Addi's POV

The rumors about why ADPi didn't perform at AllSing were everywhere. People whispered about how one of our girls had a family emergency and flew to Hawaii. Others speculated it was because we hadn't had enough time to prepare. I didn't know where people got this stuff, but I wasn't going to waste energy trying to correct them.

I didn't even use YikYak. It was a cesspool of petty drama and anonymous sniping. But apparently, everyone else was glued to it.

I was leaning against the bar, chatting with some of my sisters about how awful this year's AllSing had been, when a KD girl stumbled up to me, tears streaming down her face.

"Addi," she sobbed, grabbing my arm like I was her lifeline. "Have you seen it?"

I blinked. "Seen what?"

"The YikYak thread," she cried, her voice dropping to a whisper. "They're exposing KD!"

My stomach twisted. I knew the internet could be ruthless, but I wasn't sure what she was talking about. "Exposing KD? Like... what does that mean?"

She shoved her phone into my hand, the YikYak app already open. At the top of the feed, a post glared back at me: "Exposing KD: Secrets, Lies, and Drama." It had over 200 upvotes and a stream of angry comments.

I skimmed the thread, my eyes widening.

"Their exec board is a joke. No one respects their president."
"KD barely sold tickets for AllSing. Why even bother showing up?"
"Apparently, their sisterhood retreat turned into a screaming match. Yikes."
It was brutal. And as I kept scrolling, it got worse.

"Heard they made one girl cry during AllSing rehearsals."
"KD's just mad ZTA still pulls hotter guys."
"The chapter's been falling apart for years. No wonder everyone's quitting."
The KD girl stared at me, her lower lip trembling. "What do we do? This is humiliating!"

I handed her phone back, trying to keep my voice calm. "I... don't know. But I'll look into it."

She sniffled, her face lighting up with relief. "You will? Thank you, Addi!"

Back at my apartment, I sat on my bed with my laptop open and my phone in hand. I hated YikYak, but I couldn't let this go. Not because I cared about KD's reputation—I didn't. But if someone could tear them down anonymously, what was stopping them from coming for ADPi next?

As I scrolled through the posts, I noticed something interesting. The account posting the worst of the KD thread seemed to be the same one spreading rumors about other sororities.

"ADPi really thinks they're better than everyone because they didn't compete. Y'all aren't special."
"ZTA still whining about losing to KD last year. Get over it."
"Chi O won AllSing by default. We all know it."
I bit my lip, my mind racing. If I could figure out who was behind the posts, maybe I could stop them before they dragged anyone else through the mud.

It was time to become a YikYak detective.
