I hesitated, a chill running down my spine. Something about him felt wrong, and my instincts screamed at me to run. But with nowhere to go, I stood frozen, trapped in the grip of fear, torn between fight or flight.

My gaze locked on him, and I clutched my phone tighter, my eyes darting around, searching for an escape. The car parked beside us offered no protection. I didn't know who this man was or what he wanted, but I could sense the danger in his presence. I knew I had to get out of here.

A bead of sweat trickled down my forehead as I took a few cautious steps backward. My eyes flicked to his legs, watching for the slightest movement. He noticed, his sharp gaze tracking my every step, a silent understanding passing between us-he knew I was planning to run.

He took another step toward me, his voice low and menacing, as he commanded, "Get in the car."

The words sent a jolt of panic through me. I knew I had to move-now. It was either fight with everything I had or flee before he could close the distance.

I turned abruptly, ready to sprint, but he was faster. In one swift motion, he lunged forward, his hand locking around my elbow like a vice.

Panic surged through me. Without a second thought, I acted on instinct, twisting my body and sinking my teeth into his hand. He yelped in pain, and his grip loosened.

In the chaos, my phone slipped from my grasp, clattering to the ground. For a split second, I hesitated, torn between grabbing it or saving myself.

Choosing survival, I left the phone behind and ran, my feet pounding against the pavement as I fled as fast as I could. The street was empty, no signs of help, no safe place in sight.

After what felt like an eternity, I slowed down, gasping for air. My legs ached, my lungs burned, and I was still wearing heels. Cursing under my breath,I yanked them off, holding them in my hands.

There was no way I could run in those.

But just as I caught my breath, I heard it-the heavy thud of footsteps behind me, closing in fast. My heart leapt into my throat, terror gripping me once more.

I had to hide.

Without thinking, I dove behind the nearest tree, pressing my back against the rough bark of the tree, trying to steady my breathing while my heart pounded in my chest like a drum.

I could hear the footsteps closing in, each step echoing louder than the last. My mind was racing, and fear gripped me tighter with every second that passed. I clenched my heels in one hand, holding them tight like makeshift weapons.

I dared to peek from behind the tree, only to catch a glimpse of the masked man frantically searching the area. His eyes were cold and determined, scanning every corner, every shadow, as if he knew I was nearby.

My stomach twisted in knots. I needed a plan-a way to get out of this nightmare. I couldn't rely on my phone, which was now far out of reach, abandoned back there in the chaos. All I could do was hope he hadn't seen me and that he'd move on.

The footsteps slowed down, becoming eerily quiet. I pressed my lips together, trying to make as little sound as possible. I could almost feel his presence, like he was breathing down my neck, even though I knew he wasn't that close yet.

A single thought kept running through my mind: "Stay calm, don't move, and wait for your chance."

But suddenly, the sound of the footsteps stopped. Silence enveloped the area, a silence so thick that it felt suffocating. I couldn't tell where he was or if he had given up looking for me. My chest felt heavy as I listened intently, waiting for any hint of movement.
