The train slowly sways back and forth as it trails along the track. Stopping every now and then at a station letting passengers on and off. It was mostly empty since it was later at night. Then eventually we get to the station by my house.
Kura gently shakes me awake.
"Hey, this is our stop." He whispers.
I suddenly wake up, jolting my head up.
"Oh, dang when did I fall asleep. Sorry." I get embarrassed.
"Don't worry about it." Kura says standing up.
We both get off the train, it was still raining but not as heavy as before. We stop and stand underneath the overhang.
"Well, thank you for taking me out today. I had a lot of fun." I smile at him.
"Yeah, me too. Maybe we could do it again some time." Kura says.
I nod. "Yeah, I would love too."
"Well, I guess I'll see you at school. I gotta take another train back to my house." Kura says.
"Oh yeah, here's your jacket." I say taking it off and handing it back over.
He takes it back.
"Thanks. Well, bye." He says waving.
I turn to leave, waving goodbye as well.
I walk away and go down the stairs back to ground level on the street. I walk a bit, going through street lights. It was empty down the road, no one around. Only the sound of the drizzling rain and my sandals hitting the path. I was walking next to a cement wall, then I heard something.
"Akari..." A voice called out from far away.
I turn around but no one was there.
Did Kura forget something?
I wait around but I don't see anything. Then I heard it again.
"Akari, over here..." They called out.
I heard it coming from the alley way next to the road.
Hmm, that's weird.
"Kura? Did you forget something?" I say as I walk into the alley.
I walk halfway in. No one was down there.
"Kura?" I ask, getting kind of scared.
All I heard was silence, dark shadows were all around me. My heart rate started racing. Then I saw a shadow move out of the corner of my eye.
"Akari, you fool..." I heard someone say behind me.
I went to turn around but then all I felt was a sharp pain in my back. Something lurched out of the darkness and slammed me into the wall, my purse snapped and broke off and landed on the ground.
I screamed out in pain. But someone's hand covered my mouth.
"Shhhhhh, Akari.... It's all your fault." The dark shadow said.
I saw eight red glowing eyes. My vision started to go black, then I passed out.
All that was left in that alley was the rose that fell out of her hair. And, her purse...
Bluebell was dazed, they got smashed pretty hard into the wall. But when they awoke, no one was left. They emerged out of the purse.
"Akari?" Bluebell desperately called out.
They franticly flew around, calling out for her. "Akariiii!"
But, she was gone.
Bluebell sat there alone in the rain, not knowing what to do. Left to weep.
