Chapter 23: The Cold Unknown

Akari and the rest of the group all left the villain's facility.

Yaro helped me walk outside, the temperature had dropped significantly. I looked down at the road, a fresh layer of snow had appeared. I lifted my head up to the sky. Snowflakes slowly and silently fluttered down. The city noise around us was muffled by the snowfall, making it feel very deserted outside.

"Akari!" A voice called out.

I looked back up to see a blue flash flying straight towards me. I smiled at Bluebell. Yaro let go of me and stood aside, the others waited nearby.

I held my hands out towards him. "Bluey!"

Bluebell crashed into me and I hugged him. He laughed with happiness. I leaned my head back.

"I missed you so much, I was so worried." Bluebell told me.

I laughed at him. "Me too buddy."

Then bluebell's face fell serious. "They hurt you, didn't they?"

Bluebell flew backwards, looking at me more closely. Yaro wrapped his arms back around my shoulder. I held my arms together, feeling cold.

"Of course they did, they're terrible evil people." Yaro told him.

Kitsune crossed his arms. "Well, at least they didn't physically hurt you."

Yuki looked over to him. Bluebell looked back up into my eyes.

"What did they do to you? What's that black stuff?" Bluebell asked me.

My eyes widened in surprise.

"Wait, shouldn't you know? I thought you were the one that saved me..." I asked him.

Bluebell didn't answer me. "Come on, let's get you out of the cold and get you guys healed up."

Bluebell's body started to glow. A white sphere started to grow around him, getting closer to us.

"What is he doing?" I asked confused.

Yuki came and stood closer.

"Yeah, what is that? He's not gonna blow up, is he?" Kitsune asked.

"Oh you'll see." Yuki said smiling.

The light encased us and my eyes were blinded in the bright white.

Then the environment changed, everything bacame silent and the temperature became warm. Then I felt a gentle breeze pick up. I opened my eyes to see my new surroundings. I was in a beautiful garden with a giant castle beside us.

I spun around in amazement, my mouth and eyes wide with wonder. "What is this place Bluebell? Did you make it?"

I looked around, but Bluebell was gone. Yaro and Yuki walked away to the door, Kitsune limping along.

"Come on, he's probably inside." Yaro told me.

I shuffled over to them as they held the door open for me. I go through the door and my eyes widen even more.

"Woooooow!" I exclaim.

I looked around at everything, it looked so real. I saw further away in the room by a round table was a blue glowing rabbit. It was Bluebell. But he was transparent. I walk over to him.

"Isn't this place amazing Akari?" Bluebell asks me excited.

I reach my hand over but it goes through him.

"Huh Is this place based off of your home world? Does it look like this on your planet?!" I ask him, anticipating the answer.

The others walk to the table and sit down on the chairs. Bluebell shakes his head.
