A couple of days go by, after that suspenseful yet beautiful moment between Yaro and I.
I went back to training for the culture festival, and things went back to being pretty normal. We went to our classes, practiced after school. I hung out with my friends, sometimes just Kura and I hung out to go on dates. Some nights my parents didn't have to work so we hung out at home, watching movies or going out to do fun stuff.
Time moved on, and it was further into the fall time. The weather got more cold, and it was almost time for the culture festival. We switched back to our winter uniforms as well. And on the news it's been pretty quiet, no Kagé attacks or anything about the villains. Just a lot of missing people lately. Disappearing without a trace. Their loved ones saying that they would never leave without telling anyone, no footage of anyone getting kidnapped either.
It was late afternoon, I was up in our classroom practicing hard. It was empty, most of the other kids were done and didn't have anything else to do. The setting sun shone in through the windows, bouncing off of the leaves that were changing colors. The music blasted through the almost abandoned building.
I finished up the routine as the song ended. Kaede paused the music.
"Good now pause, wave to the crowd, don't look tired. Now slowly exit the stage, don't forget to smile. Great!" Kaede says directing me.
I copied what he said to do, then I hunched over wiping my forehead.
"Still dosne't get any easier." I say out of breath.
Kaede was sitting down at one of the desks. I walk over to him and grab a drink off the table. We had recently started practicing singing and dancing at the same time. I sit down at a desk next to Kaede.
"Well don't feel too bad, most idols practice for years before they debut. You've only been doing this for like two months." Kaede tells me.
"I know, I just hope the concert goes well." I tell him.
Kaede smirks at me. "Well then, I guess we just have to get some practice in. Let's go through the steps one more time, no singing. You can practice that at home."
He gently pats my shoulder. I groan and begrudgingly stand up. I walk over to the middle of the room and pose, waiting for the music.
"Okay and counting down, five, four, three, two, one! Now the lights turn on, and cue the music!" Kaede says.
The song starts playing. I move around and do the dance moves, holding up one hand pretending to hold a microphone. I lip sync as well.
"One two three, spin. Five six seven eight, pose, and three two one, hold it! One two three, jump!" Kaede was standing up dancing along as well.
I smiled to myself watching him. At least this was a lot more helpful than before. We were just watching videos online trying to copy them like playing just dance. But now Kaede was like an expert, he added in every little detail, how to hold my hands, how to add face expressions. Even how to pose with my fingers. We continued the routine until the song ended. Then we both sat down on the ground.
"Okay, I think that's all I've got left in me for today, we just went through that like five times." I jokingly said out of breath.
"Heh, you're telling me. I even got up and danced along with you on that last one." Kaede said.
I smile at him. "I can see now, why it's your dream to be a dancer. You're really good at it." I tell him.
Kaede blushes and looks away.
"Heh, thanks. I try really hard, even if I may never get to do it." He says, looking out the window.
"Even if it's not professionally or in a group or whatever, you could still do it for fun. Maybe make videos about it, some people meet up and dance to the same song and record it." I tell him.
