Your eyes flutter open in confusion as you hear your bedroom door slowly creak open. Slightly scared, you try to remain calm as you peak open your eyes just enough to see what's going on. Standing in your doorway is a tall shadowed figure that sends your heart leaping into your throat. You would've screamed if your vision didn't clear enough to reveal who the figure actually is.

"Brahms?" You question, voice raspy from just waking up.

"I had a nightmare." The tall male whispers as he stands in the doorway, shuffling from foot to foot as if feeling awkward or embarrassed about waking you up in the middle of the night. Sighing, you scoot over in your large bed and pat the now empty space, giving him permission to enter your usually off limits room. Brahms seems rather happy at the invitation as he enters the room, quietly shutting the door behind him before venturing over to your bed and sliding beneath the covers next to you.

He curls up instantly into your side, humming happily as you wrap your arms around him. His head rests upon your chest, the thrumming sound of your heartbeat reverberating in his ear, soothing his nerves instantly. Despite feeling somewhat uncomfortable at suddenly sharing your bed with him, you try your best to relax, knowing that he needs the comfort.

It can be pretty easy to forget sometimes that Brahms acts and behaves quite childish sometimes due to how he was raised, meaning he will react more to nightmares than an adult would. You are quite curious as to what he had dreamt about but refrain from asking as it is likely that it will just upset him again. If he wants to talk about it then he can bring it up on his own. You won't force him to talk about it when he isn't ready to.

"I don't want to ever lose you." Brahms voice quietly echoes out after a few moments of silence.

Confused, you pull away slightly in order to look down at him. "What do you mean?"

"In my nightmare..." He pauses, looking away from you as he buries his head further into your chest, making you tighten your hold on him. "In my nightmare, you were taken away from us. People in uniforms came to the house, and they took you away. We had no choice but to run and leave you behind. I wanted to go back for you but the others wouldn't let me. When we saw you again..." Brahms takes in a shuddering breath. "It was at your funeral. You were executed for protecting us. We all had to watch from a distance as they buried you in the ground."

Rubbing your hand across his back, you try your best to soothe him as you try to think of something to say that can ease his fear. You never would have guessed that the nightmare would be about you- you figured it was just a basic nightmare that most children have about monsters or something. It's kind of sweet that the thought of you dying upsets him so much, but you know you shouldn't really be thinking about it that way. Poor guy is terrified of losing you yet you can't help but to see it as something nice.

"Brahms, sweetheart." You brush your fingers through his hair as you speak softly. "I promise that will never ever happen. Nobody will ever be able to take me away from you. I will always fight to stay by your sides. And even if I can't fight, I know that all of you will fight for me. We've been through hell to be together, and we'll go through hell again just to stay together. Do you trust me Brahms?"

"Always." He answers without hesitation.

"Then trust me when I say that I will never leave you, and that I will always fight to stay with you. Trust that, even if you trust nothing else." You pull your hand from his hair and put it beneath his chin, tilting his face up so you can look into his eyes. "Would it make you feel better if we sealed the promise with a kiss?"

Brahms eyes widen just slightly before he nods. Smiling softly, you lean down, chuckling internally as Brahms cutely leans forward with eagerness. The ceramic lips feel cold against your own, sending a slight chill down your spine. It'll always feel a bit odd to you kissing the lips of a mask rather than their actual lips. Proper kisses seem much better, do they not? Though there certainly is something sweet about the innocent kisses with a barrier between.

Pulling away, you stare down into Brahm's lidded eyes, the sound of his breathy pants meeting your ears. Despite it not being a real kiss, he seems quite flustered and happy with it. Chuckling softly, you brush your fingers through his hair once again before guiding his head to lay on your chest once more. "Let's try to get some sleep, now. Goodnight Brahms."

"Goodnight, (Y/N)." Brahms snuggles further against you, wrapping his arms around you. "I love you."

"I love you too, Brahms. Forever and always."
