In the near future, a Japanese scientist engineers a called "Infinite Stratos" (IS). Possessing technology and combat capabilities surpassing those of any other arms system, the IS threatens to destabilize the world. Faced with such an overpowered weapon, the nations of the world enact the "Alaska Treaty", which states that IS shall never be used for militant combat, and that existing IS technology must be equally distributed to all nations, to . The introduction of the IS does, however, have a major effect on society. As IS can only be operated by women, there is a shift in the power balance between men and women, where women now dominate society over men.

Ten years after the IS was initially introduced, the world has entered a new age of peace. The peace is shattered, however, by Ichika Orimura, a 15-year-old Japanese boy. In a coincidental run-in with a (hibernating) IS suit, it is revealed that he possesses the innate ability to operate an IS. Realizing the potential, the Japanese government forces the bewildered young man to attend the prestigious Infinite Stratos Academy, a multicultural academy where IS pilots from all over the world are trained. Thus, he starts a busy high school life surrounded by girls training to pilot IS.

My Review: To start off with...

There was way too much fan service. Like, wayyyy too much. The whole thing was basically. "Another IS has invaded the school. Evacuate!"

All the girls tried to impress the only guy in the school but he's too much of an idiot to realise that they love him.

I'm not going to lie. The first season was great. But, the second had no plot line and it just made the whole anime change. The second season was rather unnecessary and irrelevant.

Main Characters: Ichika Orimura: The first male ever to be able to control an IS. He goes to a school which is filled with girls and learns how to fight.

Houki Shinonono: Ichika's childhood friend. Houki loves Ichika but he's too oblivious to realize.

Cecilia Alcott: A British IS pilot. She has feelings for Ichika, alongside Houki, but Ichika sees them as friends. She helps him train and they become good friends.

Huang Lingyin: Another childhood friend of Ichika. She loves Ichika and gets rather annoyed if another girl tries to impress him.

Charlotte Dunois: A French IS pilot. She joins the school and helps Ichika with training. She tries to get Ichika to notice her feelings for him, but it's never in her favour.

Laura Bodewig: A German IS pilot. She has a calm attitude and is competitive. Laura openly admits she loves Ichika and he knows it. Laura's IS, Schwarzer Regen, is one of the most advanced Infinite Stratos units.
