Summary: Leon and Claire are on a walk back to their apartment when it begins to rain. They don't get upset or anything. Instead, they take it in!
Status of their relationship in this one shot: Engaged.
Now, Claire and Leon are heading back to their apartment. About an hour ago, they had decided to go on a walk together. They just went up to the corner store, got some dinner and are now ambling their way back to their apartment, one that they've leased together for some time now.
Above them is the sky, of course. However, it's dark and cloudy, and occasionally thunder has been heard yet, no rain. Guess Stevie Nick's lyrics aren't quite accurate then, hmm! Claire chuckled to herself at the thought before looking over and up at Leon, admiring his stark face and his grainy stubble. Such a handsome man.
"I'm excited to cook these up when we get home." Claire sparked up conversation, referring to the ribs they just purchased together. "Yeah, and the green beans will go great with them." Leon added on. Their small talk is usually more interesting - today is just a bit of an off one.
A sudden clap of thunder was heard and it startled Claire a bit considering it was out of no where. "Jeez..." Claire whispered under her breath and with that, it was almost like God heard her complaining and decided to inflict karma upon her.
Rainfall began.
"Shit, we don't even have an umbrella." Leon snorted out, clearly a bit annoyed by the rain. "It was sunny out like thirty minutes ago, what happened!?" Claire groaned and gazed up at the steaming clouds above them. Oh yeah, a storm is about to commence.
Claire looked down at her outfit, watching as the sprinkles from above began to leave gray spots along her clothing. "That's just lovely." She said sarcastically. Leon glanced at her and laughed to himself. "Cute." He tugged on her long sleeve shirt, admiring her fire in it as the water began to soak it up. "Yeah, thanks." Claire scoffed and looked at his clothing now, the same thing happening to him.
The paper bags in which they were each holding one started to get wet too. This is pretty sucky. This isn't what either of them needed on a day like this. "Well, what are we supposed to do now?" "Not much we can do baby, we just have to get home." Leon snickered at Claire's question. "Thanks for the logistics handsome, it was a rhetorical question!" Claire shouted playfully which earned her a snack on the ass from Leon.
They are very much a snarky couple, it works for them!
Suddenly, Leon paused in his tracks and set the bag onto the ground. Claire stopped as well and just stared at him. "What are you doing!?" She said with urgency. "Put the bag down sweetheart." "What? Why?" "Just trust me?" "Ha, sure." Claire shrugged funnily and listened, setting the final brown paper bag down onto the ground. "So you want us to get drenched? Got it!" Claire mumbled and as she did, Leon grabbed her cheeks and held them gently.
"A little bit of rain never hurt anyone." The man tilted his head and gazed at his fiance. Claire laughed before shaking her head, "Until lightening strikes them down." "Oh hush." Leon snickered at her antics before pushing his lips to hers. His hands stayed on her face and hers went to his chest, feeling his wet leather jacket against her chilled fingertips.
Wow, kissing in the rain, huh? Just like the movies.
Their kiss seemed to last forever. It was romantic. Claire enjoyed it and, so did Leon. Once it ended however, Leon pressed his forehead against Claire's and said something she didn't expect to hear, at least not in a moment like this.
"I love you Claire. I love you and all of your little habits, just, every little thing about you. I can't wait to marry you." Those words hit her, and they hit her hard. In a good way, of course. They were sweet and honest, they were everything to her. "I love you more Leon. I can't wait to marry you." And she didn't even get to finish her sentence fully before it felt as though a force drew her to Leon, having her kiss him once again.
The rain picked up in pace and darkness, which automatically made Claire hold onto Leon tighter, seeking comfort and protection in him. Leon held her waist close to him and ran his fingers through her soft, soaked hair. He bellowed into the kiss before pulling away and wandering his eyes across the skyline. "Let's get home Claire." He chuckled and kissed her cheek with haste before picking up both of the bags. "I agree." Her blush was noticeable and she knew it, so she looked down and followed alongside him quickly.
What a fun and odd evening the two of them have just shared...
