Summary: Leon and Claire purchase their first home together

The car came to a sudden halt as Leon put it in park. Leon gazed through Claire's passenger window, a subtle smirk appearing on his face. Claire was looking outside of it as well, in complete awe.

How could they not?

Their very first home is only yards away from them.

Leon and Claire bought their very first, and only, house recently. A few weeks ago they signed on it and made it theirs! Ever since then, they've rented U-Hauls and had the help of friends during their move and it has been a total success, luckily for them.

Claire glanced back at Leon, her pearly whites showing as she smiled with content. "It's so perfect. I really forgot how perfect it looks." They haven't seen the house since their second walkthrough a couple of weeks back. It feels brand new again in a particular way.

Nodding in agreement, he replied. "I know. It's a real nice place for you and I." Leon loves it just as much as her.

No more shitty apartments in a crappy downtown area or lousy townhouses surrounded by people who are loud and annoying. Now it'll be only the two of them, in a sweet little beige house complimented by its large wrap around porch. It suits Claire and Leon extremely well.

Opening the car doors, Leon and Claire got out and watched as the two U-Hauls they rented for the day pulled up behind them. They both shot the drivers a wave before looking back up at the house. It is absolutely beautiful.

A three bedroom, two story home, big windows and grey maroon brown flooring all throughout it. Leon likes the coziness of it, and its spacious space whereas Claire was drawn to its outside look, the yard and its location. Right outside of town, but close enough to both of their jobs, they won't have to commute far.

"Do you have the key?" Leon asked her. "Right!" Claire reached down into her side purse and pulled it out, handing it to him but Leon shook his head. "You do the honors honey." Claire smiled and ran up to the house in a cute way, sticking the key into the lock and pushing the door open. "Come on!" She shouted at Leon and he chuckled, following up behind her.

The natural lighting all throughout the home is gorgeous. It'll make of great use for Claire's indoor plants and Lord knows she has way too many! Stepping inside the home, Claire looked around and sighed with content. "It's better than I remember." "It is." Leon responded.

"Oh by the way, Chris and Jill are on their way. They said they'd help us unload everything." "Good. It'll be good to see them again." Leon had his arms crossed as he gandered around and spoke up. "It will be. I've missed them." They've been so busy with work, none of them have seen each other lately. It's unusual—they are all so close.

Claire walked over to the open archway leading into the kitchen. Now the kitchen is Claire's favorite room in the entire house. She's big on cooking homemade meals, so when she saw how excellent the kitchen and its appliances looked, it amazed her furthermore.

Stringing her index finger along the black countertop, she laughed silently to herself. Leon leaned up against the thick arch, gazing at Claire. She's so pretty. "I'm obsessed." She stated and Leon snorted. "I know you are. I'm glad." One thing about Leon? He'll do anything he can to appease his beautiful wife.

Claire then went over to the sink and turned the faucet on. Nothing. She groaned. "I thought you called to turn the water on!?" "I did babe. It'll take a day or two. Be patient, we don't have to be out of the other house until the end of the month." "But all of our stuff is moved out?" "I left the futon back there just in case. We'll more than likely stay there tonight unless the water comes on." "Okay."

That makes sense.

"You're always one step ahead of me." She laughed faintly and switched the faucet back to off before going over to Leon. He made a face and she giggled. "What?" Claire leered and wrapped her arms around his neck. "What's on your mind?" She said. "I'm just happy we're here. Just me and you and a place of our own." Leon had his arms around her back now, her waist up against his.

Claire is too. This was very much needed.

"Oh honey," Claire took one of her hands and placed it on his cheek, caressing it with love. "I love you so much." "I love you Claire." Leon set his forehead against hers.

Their moment was promptly ruined by the sound of men grunting and carrying in some large boxes. They both laughed and hugged each other, watching the sight. "Do you two need assistance?" Leon questioned the men. They shook their heads.

The sound of a car rolling up the driveway and parking outside was heard. "That might be Chris and Jill!" Claire said with ecstatic, releasing Leon from her warm touch and jogging over to the door. And wouldn't you know? It was them.

"Chris!" Claire squealed and flew down the steps, running to her big brother and jumping into the oddly burly man's arms. Leon has always been slightly envious of Chris's gains. How does the man do it? Leon walked down the stairs carefully and greeted Jill first. "Well I'll be damned. How have you been, Valentine?"

Jill gave Leon a quick hug and talked. "Been good. It feels nice being back in the fields." "Have you lost your touch?" "Absolutely not." Jill nudged him and Chris put Claire down, smiling at his baby sister. "Hey Chris." "Leon," Chris reached over and patted his arm and Leon gave him a nod.

"So this is your guy's place? I like it. Very modern but in a not so disgusting way." Jill joked and slung her arm around Chris's waist, resting her head against his chest as they admired the home. "Yes. She's perfect." Claire held her hands together.

"Well, let's give you guys a hand then. Leon, let's get that load of boxes right there," Chris pointed to the ground near the sidewalk. "Honestly Jill and Claire, you two can just... Look pretty, how does that sound?" Chris teased and they rolled their eyes. "Oh haha." Claire said sarcastically before pushing herself through Chris to help move their stuff in.

With that, Claire and Leon have officially purchased their very own home.
