"TRUST ME ON THIS"
The rain pattered softly against the car windows, the rhythmic sound filling the tense silence between them.
Jungkook's hands gripped the steering wheel tightly as he stole a quick glance at Alessia, who was staring blankly out the window, her arms crossed.
Jungkook cleared his throat. "Umm... so, why so quite?"
Alessia turned her head slightly, her expression unreadable. "So... what if I fail?"
Jungkook frowned, his jaw tightening. "You won't, Trust me!!."
"But what if I do?" she countered, her voice growing louder. "What if I mess up and put us all in more danger? What if Kairan figures it out?"
Jungkook's grip on the wheel tightened, his knuckles whitening. "You're not going to fail, Alessia. Stop thinking like that."
"Easy for you to say!" she shot back, her tone sharp.
"You're not the one walking into the lion's den! You're not the one who has to—"
"ENOUGH!" Jungkook's voice cut through the car, his frustration bubbling over.
"I don't need to hear your doubts right now, Alessia. I need you to trust me."
"Trust you?" she laughed bitterly, shaking her head.
"You're asking me to throw myself into the fire while you sit back and play hero. Trust doesn't work that way, Jungkook!"
Jungkook's jaw clenched as he abruptly pulled the car to the side of the road, the tires splashing through a puddle as he slammed on the brakes.
The car jerked to a stop, and he turned to face her, his eyes blazing.
"THEN DON'T DO IT!!!" he shouted, his voice echoing in the confined space.
"If you're so scared, then don't bother!"
Alessia's heart pounded as she stared at him, his words cutting deeper than she expected.
She threw open the car door and stepped out into the pouring rain, slamming it shut behind her.
Jungkook blinked, his anger faltering as he watched her figure retreat into the storm.
"What the fuck?—"
"Idiot Lady!" he shouted, running after her.
"I said don't bother, not to actually leave!"
Alessia stopped in her tracks, her drenched hair clinging to her face as she turned to glare at him.
"What do you want from me, Jungkook? One second, you're pushing me into danger, and the next, you're telling me to walk away. Make up your mind!"
He grabbed her hand, pulling her closer, his breathing ragged from anger and the cold rain.
"You think this is easy for me? You think I like the idea of you being anywhere near Kairan?"
"Then why are you asking me to do it?" she yelled back, her voice breaking.
"Because I don't trust anyone else with this! Because you're the only one who can pull it off!"
Before Alessia could respond, Jungkook's hand slid to her cheek, his thumb brushing away a raindrop—or was it a tear?
"B-But—"
His lips crashed against hers aggressively, stealing the words she was about to say.
The world seemed to pause as the rain poured down around them, soaking them to the bone. But in that moment, none of it mattered.
