Isobel ;

I woke up feelings very uncomfortable. I yawned, and sat up, stretching. What made me confused was the tool I was in. It wasn't my room. It was all white, even the counter I was sleeping on. It had one pillow which I used, but that was it.

The door handle on white door was metal, and I wondered if it was locked. More importantly was this place where I die?

My feet dropped onto the tile, and I wobbled, trying to catch my balance. I also felt dizzy, and tired, but that wasn't stopping me.

I walked slowly to the door, and turned the knob. It was unlocked, what luck I had. Maybe they didn't think I was going to wake up this early, or someone forgot to lock it.

I glanced both ways, and saw no one. The weird thing is, the walls and floors were white, too. What the fuck?

I stepped out of the room, and I quietly shut the door. I took the hallway to the left, and hoped there would be an exit somewhere.

I turned a right when I was far enough from the room, and then I saw a map on a square piece of white wood.

I saw an exit, and tried remembering the turns. I took a left, then a right, right, and so on. Then my name was being called, and I froze.

I spun around to see Sam, catching his breath, while holding up a hand. He had a bag, like a suitcase bag, and set it on the ground.

"You were...hard...to find," he said between breaths.

I waited for him to walk towards me, not expecting what was going to happen next. He held out the bag to me, and I grabbed the straps to hold it. What was inside?

"Is there a bomb in here?" I asked.

"No, no, the supplies," Sam explained, "plane ticket, money, clothes, drivers license, car keys, snacks, a phone with my number in it, bathroom essentials, and an apartment key."

   "What for?"

"Don't you get it?" He asked, "I'm helping you escape!"

My eyes widened in surprise. Why would he be helping me escape? Wouldn't he get caught? Surprisingly in these odd halls there weren't any cameras, but if someone saw...?

   "Why, I-"

"You don't belong in here, but okay look, the phone doesn't have a tracer, I took it out so your good."

"I can't leave without Vanessa, and..."

Sam looked taken back at my response, and I stiffened my posture. I promised if I got out of here, she would come with me. Even if right now she thought I was crazy, she doesn't deserve to be in here either.

"It's going to be hard. I don't know how long it'll take them to find out you're gone."

I didn't respond, just stared at him for awhile. He sighed, and told me to stand by the exit while he gets her.

"If someone sees you leave, get out, hide behind the big AC," ordered Sam.

   "Alright."

He walked away quietly like nothing had happened, and I whispered some turns that were on the map. I followed them, and an exit side hovered over a door, with metal bar, so I could push it.

I waited minutes, for what seemed like hours. This plan wasn't foolproof, any little thing could mess this up. I still needed to figure out how this was even going to work.

I heard shuffling feet, and listened in. It sounded like two people whispering. Maybe it was two employees.

I waited till they came closer, and then Sam and Vanessa were in front of me. I let out a sigh of relief, and took Vanessa's hand, opening the door a crack.

"There might be enough money to get another plane ticket, but I'm paying for the apartment, so it's okay."

We both nodded, and Vanessa looked scared. I would be too, but now was not the time. We needed to leave immediately before someone saw us.

"Thank you, Sammy," I said thankfully, and hugged him.

When I pulled back I kissed his cheek, and smiled. He blushed, and then Vanessa hugged him. I wonder when I would see him again, maybe he'll come visit.

We pushed the door as quietly as we could, though it still made noise- and made out to the parking lot. I searched for the keys in the bag, and found them.

I pressed unlock looking for the blinking lights on the car. Vanessa nudged me, and pointed towards a Ford Focus. We ran over to it, and we got in. I was officially eighteen, so with that drivers license in the bag, I could drive.

I didn't know when the plane was until I could see the actual ticket, but it wouldn't hurt to wait there. I checked the car time, and it read: 4:23.

This was the start of a new life, and I was ready to live it with Vanessa. I was just hoping everything worked, but one thing was for sure, we needed to change our appearance.
