   It was nice to have an apartment in another state away from Cali where we were fugitives. Isobel was just being crazy, though, going after our next door neighbor. She didn't know him.

   Maybe I wasn't worried about who he was. Maybe I was just jealous of Isobel. She was much more prettier than me. Maybe I liked Shawn, so why didn't I just go with them?

   I knew I had feelings for Shawn. Who wouldn't? He had nice masculine features, strong jawline, and he seemed like a nice guy, but I was too nervous. I thought maybe we wouldn't like me.

   I should just ask him out, without Isobel in the same room. Then Shawn might come to like me. It was a good plan, but then I felt guilty. I felt like redying my hair. It felt weird on my head, it was a different color. Now I hated it.

   I was in the kitchen eating ice cream from a Ben and Jerrys container that was in the freezer for some reason. Then the door flung open, and Isobel came bursting in. She closed the door behind her, and looked breathless, leaning against it.

   "Jack...Johnson was...at the...park...we went to," she said between breaths.

   "He didn't see me much, so I'd only worry about you," I said.

   She glared at me, and sat at the stool in front of the counter.

   "I told you not to go out," I snapped.

   "Stop being rude."

   "Excuse me," I said, "you're the one going out with random strangers."

   "He's not a stranger, his name is Shawn Mendes, and he's a musician."

   "That's what he told you."

   She wasn't being paranoid. I just didn't want her hanging out with him. Call me selfish, or jealous, or bitchy, but just the image of Shawn was appealing, and his lit up smile made me want to smile.

   I stood there in silence, while she was sitting in silence. It was awkward, yet it's not new. It's happened before, but this was different. We just fought about a guy. A guy I liked, but Isobel didn't know. A guy she liked, but knew Jack Johnson.

   What were we going to do?

   What was I going to do?
