Maleficent and Hades relationship from when they met in high school to when Mal gets off the isle. Plus some fixing of continuity issues in the descendants universe.
(Also they will not be getting divorced in this story because frankly I don't know...
Maleficent continued working on wedding stuff after Hades left, or more specifically went why to deep down a rabbit hole of what she thought Hades would like. It also didn't help that she really had no clue what stuff happens at weddings cause fae don't really get married in the Moors. Most just made the promise to be loyal and that is enough; humans not so much. Fuck and clearly gods didn't stay loyal even if they're married so she didn't really understand why they did it.
"You look ready to rip your horns off." Maleficent looked up to see Hecate standing in the doorway.
"I am." She groaned, "I knew weddings were complicated but I didn't know they were THIS complicated."
Hecate chuckled and walked over to her. "Yeah they are. You should've seen Zeus and Heras wedding."
"That's kinda my point." Maleficent closed her book and shoved it over to the massive pile of wedding books and information. "Im very excited to be getting married and to actually have a wedding but humans make it sound so complicated!"
"And you're not doing whatever a fae wedding is because???"
"Because fae don't get married."
That was a shock to Hecate. "So you're planning a wedding without knowing anything about wedding?"
"Yes. And Hades was absolutely no help, ya know before he got summoned to Olympus." She said clearly annoyed.
"What'd he get summoned for? He didn't have any meetings on schedule today."
Maleficent just shrugged, "idk, maybe it was a last minute thing."
Hecate didn't question it; not the first time Hades has been summoned last minute by his family. "On a different note, how about you take a break and get something to eat, than I'll help you with the wedding."
"Thanks but I'm not hungry."
"And I don't care." Hecate replied, "You haven't eaten today and it's past noon, so you're eating."
"I'll eat when Hades gets back."
Hecate just rolled her eyes frustrated. She knew about Maleficents eating disorder but didn't get in the middle of it since Hades told her he had it under control. Yeah, she wasn't entirely convinced. "Fine but I'm holding you to that." Hecate told her, "but you can still take a break and open an early wedding present." That got Maleficents attention.
"Wedding present?" She asked; she kinda skipped the chapters about wedding presents.
Hecate explained seeing the confusion on the dark fae face. "Yep. It's pretty common that guests give the bride and groom presents at their wedding, but I figured I could give you mine now."
"Okay?"
Hecate snapped her fingers and a long box appeared in front of Maleficent. "Go ahead, open it." Maleficent did so and looks stunned at the contents inside

"Wow!" She picked up the scepter and looked it over, "it's beautiful! Did you make this?"
"Yes I did." Hecate smiled, "I know fae don't really need wands or anything to use their magic, but it will definitely help harness more powerful magic and spells."
Maleficent was absolutely thrilled by the gift and practically jumped out of her chair and hugged Hecate. "Thank you!" Hecate hugged the young fairy back, "you're welcome my dear." As sweet as the moment was, it was ruined by loud screaming coming from the throne room. "Sounds like your fiancé's home." Hecate said pointing out the obvious. The pair headed to the throne room and saw Hades slumped on his throne, his hair ignited in flames and he was using Pain and Panic as target practice. "Should I jump in?" Maleficent whispered to Hecate.
"If you're brave enough."
Maleficent decided she was brave enough and went up to her future husband. Hades barely noticed her presence as he was too busy sending fire balls at his minions. She got behind him and ran her fingers through his hair, which was still on fire. "You seem like you're having fun." She says, slightly hoping she was able to sneak up on him; she wasn't.
Hades barely reacted; simply just take her hand out of his hair and kissed it. "It be more fun if they were my siblings." He said throwing another fire ball at Panic.
"So I guess the meeting went bad?"
Hades scoffed and rolled his eyes, "you have no idea."
"Wanna talk about it?" She asked.
"Not even a little bit." Hades growled.
"Okay..sorry"
Hades finally looked up at her, hearing the bit of sadness in her voice. He sat up and took her hand, pulling her onto his lap. "You don't have anything to be sorry for Lotus flower. My family just pissed me off and I don't wanna think about it anymore."
Maleficent understood and nodded, "okay."
"Oh btw," Hades reached behind his throne and handed maleficent the box which contained the crowns Hephaestus and Athena made. "Here. My niece and nephew made these for you."
Maleficent looked at the box confused before opening it and marveling at the crowns in the box. "My gods.. these are beautiful!"
Hades smiled, very happy that she liked the crowns. "They'll look beautiful on you. A crown fit for a queen." He took one of them out and put it on his fiancée head. "Yep, beautiful."
Maleficent blushed, grinning like an idiot. "I love you."
