After Maleficent had cursed Minthe to turn into a mint plant, word got around pretty fast to the other goodies. They were torn between staying away from Hades 100% or staging an intervention. They chose stay away as they were all to scare of Maleficent to even speak to Hades in fear of being cursed.
After a few weeks, things started to calm down again. Well sorta. Hades started notice quite a few couples starting to argue and fight on the daily. He normally didn't involve himself with these things but he had to hear and see the fights almost every class.
After maybe a week, Hades skipped class and went to bug Maleficent during her free period. He found her sitting under a tree in the court yard reading some gothic poetry book that she'd probably tell him about later. "Hey lotus flower." Hades waved to her.
"Hey babe!" Maleficent smiled brightly seeing hero husband. "What are you doing here? I thought you had math this period."
"I did, but I wanted to see you instead." He told her, plopping down in front of her on the ground, leaning back on his elbow. "So got a question."
"And I might have an answer." Maleficent teased.
Hades chuckled then asked, "why are all the couples fighting and do I need to call Aphrodite?"
"I have no idea. I've heard a few girls complaining about romance or something but I've tried not to pay attention."
"Hm. Weird." Hades kinda lost interest in the couples thing and took the book maleficent was reading out of her hand. "Anyway, whatcha reading?"
"Mary Shelly, Frankenstein." Maleficent answered.
"Should've guessed." Hades said handing the book back.
"Have you read it?"
"No, never had the time. I met Mary Shelly though."
"Really!?" Maleficent asked surprised.
"Yeah. In the afterlife."
"Lucky!"
Hades chuckled, he made a mental not to take Maleficent to Mary Shelly's paradise when he got a chance. "Well why not read it aloud so we can both enjoy it?" Hades suggested.
"Seriously?" Maleficent asked.
"Yeah." Hades answered, "Like I said, I've never read it so what a better way to start than by having my beautiful wife read it aloud."
"Oh please, you just like hearing me talk." Maleficent teased.
"That I do lotus flower!" Hades said loudly not even trying to deny it.
Maleficent laughed at her dork of a husband opening the book back up to the beginning. Hades smiled and laid back on the grass listening to Maleficent read. After 45 minutes, their peaceful moment was ruined by the bell ringing and the court yard filling with students. Hades groaned in annoyance not wanting their moment to end. "I hate this fucking school."
Maleficent put her book away and agreed with Hades. "Me too my love."
"Wanna just skip the rest of the day?" Hades asked.
"I would, but I have a presentation on deadly flowers next period." She answered standing up and collecting her things. Hades groaned and got up, taking Maleficent books from her and putting an arm around her. "Well if I can't convince you to skip with me then I can at least walk you to class."
"You do that anyways." Maleficent teasingly pointed out.
"And?"
"Fair enough."
