Surprise!

"I'm sorry I'm what!?" Maleficent asked almost in a panic.

"You're pregnant, Mistress." The medic joyfully repeated.

Hades and Maleficent stared at the medic in disbelief. Not sure why, not like they weren't going at it every other day 😅. The medic didn't seem to notice their shock cause he just kept talking. "From the looks of it you're about 3 weeks pregnant, which is a bit of a surprise considering you're already having symptoms. Normally they don't present this early."

The couple barely heard what the medic told them, both still processing the news. The medic did finally notice his bosses weren't saying anything and asked, "Master? Mistress? Are you both alright?"

"Y..yeah." He muttered, running his fingers through his hair. "CN you give us a moment?"

"Of course." The medic bowed and stepped outside, giving them time to process. Maleficent was still frozen in shock when she felt Hades cup her face in her hands. "Hey, you still with me?" He asked, his eyes filled with concern.

"Y...yeah.." she answered, coming out of the shock. She looked at Hades, still not fully believing what she heard. "We're having a baby...." She mumbled.

Hades smiled, chuckling a bit. "Yeah, yeah we are."

Maleficent hugged him tightly, burying her face into the crook of his neck to keep from crazy. She was happy about the baby, but also absolutely terrified. She never once thought she'd be a mother this soon. Hades held her tight, gently rubbing her back. He could feel her body shaking trying not to cry and it broke his heart. "It's okay lotus flower, I'm here. It's gonna be okay." He whispered in her ear in an attempt to comfort her. The couple stayed in each other's embrace for a while before Maleficent pulled back, staring at Hades. "I'm scared...." She mumbled.

"I know baby," he said holding her hands, "but it'll be okay. We're in this together."

"Promise?🥺"

"I promise." Hades kissed her hands lovingly. "I'll do anything you need me to do to make the pregnancy easier on you."

"Thank you my love." Maleficent smiled.

"You're welcome, Lotus flower."

"Hades, can we wait to tell everyone till I'm a bit further along?" She asked him.

"Ofc, whatever you want." He smiled, putting one of his hands on her belly. "Though Hecate will probably interrogate us if she hasn't already done that to the medic."

"Oh I don't doubt it." Maleficent chuckled. "I more meant making the pregnancy public from outside the underworld. I didn't figure I could hide it from anyone down here."

"Fair enough. Alright, we won't make it super public yet. Do you want to call Hecate in here and announce it?"

Maleficent nodded and Hades called her in, hoping she hadn't interrogated the medic yet. Hecate came in and immediately hugged maleficent tightly. "Hey sweetie, how are you feeling?"

"I'm okay, just a bit nauseous." She answered hugging back. The girls let go, and Hecate felt her forehead. "Well thankful it feels like your fever broke."

"Yeah."

"Did the medics find out what was wrong?" Hecate asked.

"Yep. Turns out, I'm pregnant." Maleficent told her.

Hecates eyes widened in surprise. "Are you serious?"

"Yes. I'm 3 weeks from what the medic said."

"That's amazing!!" Hecate said excitedly and hugged the dark fae tightly. "Oh my stars, you're going to be an amazing mother!"

Maleficent hugged back, happy tears welling up in her eyes. "Thank you Hecate."

"You're welcome, sweetie. I'm so happy for you!" She kissed the dark Faes forehead gently before turning to Hades and throwing her sandal at him. "ARE YOU FUCKING STUPID!?" She yelled, catching both Hades and Maleficent off guard.

"Ow! The fuck was that for!?" Hades yelled.

"That's for being an absolute moron! How many fucking safe sex talks have I given you!?" Hecate shouted hitting him upside the head with her other sandal. "10,000+ years of celibacy and you knock up your wife less than a year after marrying her!"

"Actually we've almost been married a full year." Hades said before Hecate shoved him making laugh like an idiot.

"This is not funny hades! You two haven't even finished high school!"

"Hec, I'm a god. I don't need to. And honestly, neither does mal." once again, Hecate smacked him up side the head.

"You are a fucking idiot." Hecate groaned.

Maleficent watched the two gods go back and forth at each other, not entirely sure what was happening. 10 seconds ago Hecate was congratulating her and now she was scolding hades. "What is happening..?" Maleficent mumbled just loud enough for Hecate to hear.

"I'm scolding Hades for being a moron." Hecate told her while hades was still laughing.

Maleficent was still confused. "But...you just said you were happy for us..?"

"Oh I am! Don't get it wrong sweetie I am EXTREMELY happy for you and Hades, and I think you will be amazing parents. But Hades is like my son so I must give him some form of shit no matter how happy I am for him. Does that make sense?"

"Yes?" Maleficent answered still a bit confused.

"Good. Now you!" Hecate turned back to Hades to scold him. Hades was enjoying every second of this, finding Hecates "annoyances" very funny.

"Hey it's not like we didn't wear protection; shit just happens sometimes." Hades said laughing, causing Hecate to hit him with a pillow, making him to laugh more. Hades looked over at Maleficent who was still watching them, a bit confused but also very entertained. "Care to jump in at any time Lotus flower?!"

"Nah, I'm fine just watching." She chuckled leaning back against the headboard.

"Traitor!"

Hecate continued to scold Hades for 20 minutes until she got it out of her system. "Ya done?" Hades laughed.

"Yeah, yeah I'm done." Hecate answered panting a bit. "I am really happy for you though."

"Thanks Hecate. Im really excited to be a dad." Hades smiled.

"And you'll be amazing at that." Hecate smiled at him, patting his shoulder.

Hades thanked her and looked over to Maleficent who had fallen asleep during their "argument". He chuckled a bit, walking over to their bed and pulling the blanket over her. "Btw, we aren't announcing the pregnancy yet to anyone outside the underworld."

"My lips are sealed." Hecate promised. "I'll leave you two be for now. And again, congratulations."

"Thank you Hecate."

"You're welcome." The goddess smiled leaving the couple alone in their room. Hades changed into his sleep wear and climbed into bed with Maleficent, hugging her close to him. He wrapped his arms around her waist, putting his hand on her belly. "Sleep well lotus flower." He whispered, kissing her head before falling asleep with his wife safe in his arms.
