I had to figure out a new routine.
School, internship, Rowan, and Leo still travelling was a little overwhelming. Rowan did sneak behind my back and got a job at a cafe. He spent more and more time outside of the house and when he got his first pay cheque he bought groceries for the whole apartment.
Roxy and I felt so guilty but he wanted to help.
My first pay cheque was spent on dinner for us to all go out once to a fancy place. Then some more office clothes.
When Leo's second break came, we took the Sunday off and went to visit his family. I read his annotated book by this point so I was able to show him some of my thoughts.
Then he was gone again in a blink and I was back to watching live streams of his shows and getting calls afterwards. He was more bold with the bracelet colours and someone at work asked me about it when I got a red one in the middle of a meeting.
I told her it was just a long distance thing with my boyfriend because he has weird hours, and she accepted that as normal and cute.
The third break Leo came back he asked, "can we do a public date again? No one knows we are home this time, it was all very secret."
I grinned, "yes, please."
Leo convinced Hudson to take a turn this time doing something in public so that we could have alone time and then managed to get us a dinner reservation at a really expensive place on late notice with assurance from the people on the phone that the paparazzi would not see us.
I was going to explode with nerves even before I got ready.
Roxy helped me do my hair, my bangs were long enough that they looked more like curtain bangs now. So she gave my hair a blow-out and it was super bouncy and a little curly. I loved it.
My makeup was simple, brown eyeshadow and some blush. I didn't bother with lipstick with Leo around. I picked my classic little black dress to wear, and then some regular pumps with little gold ends on the heels. I got the smallest bag I could find that still fit my phone and wallet in and it was gold.
Roxy cheered when I came out of my room so I grinned and did a little twirl. It wasn't every day I felt as pretty as I was feeling right now.
"Can you take a few pictures for me?" I asked, handing over my phone to Roxy and we had a little photoshoot after that.
It felt so nice.
I was looking cute and going on a real date with my boyfriend.
Leo showed up soon after, waiting in the parkade and I tried not to run down there. I forced myself to pick a jacket first too and it ended up being a white fabric trench coat and then took the elevator.
I almost ran to his car. Almost
Leo grinned at me, he was in a white button-up and a black blazer. He had black jeans on to make it a little more casual but he truly looked like he just got off a movie set or something. Like he belonged coming out of a private jet.
I stared at him, "holy crap."
Leo looked down at himself, "what? Something wrong?"
I blinked a few times, "do not judge me for saying this, but you are so hot."
Leo laughed loud, so loud I blushed and my shoulders fell a little. Then he leaned over and put his hand on my chin to pull me in for a kiss. I melted a little.
When he pulled away he stayed only a few inches away from my face, "I am going to tell you this and I hope you believe it, but Marie you are so hot too. Like damn."
