A Night in the City, with You pt. 2

JASPER'S POV

The food was just as amazing as the first time I had it here. I'd done a bit more research into Italian food after my first experience, so found myself a bit more well equipped when it came to ordering this time.

Alex didn't shy away from stealing glances at me the whole time, and I found my face burning with a dark shade of crimson when he decided as we waited for food to reach across the table and take my hand in his, his thumb gently brushing against my knuckles.

We both ate in bliss, being that we accidentally skipped right over lunch to go ahead and explore that lovely art museum Alex took me to, specially, just for me. My heart still flutters at the thought of it. And my stomach fills with damn butterflies when my mind goes to the end of our visit, how tender he was, how warm his words were, how close he held me, and the soft feeling of his lips on mine.

Alex stands from the table before offering out his hand to me.

"We have one more stop, my love, then we can go home." He pulls me up gently from my chair, and I smile with some red coming to my cheeks as he kisses the top of my hand.

"Let's go then," I reply warmly, allowing him to guide me back outside and to the car.

On any other given day, I'd be sick of the amount of times we'be woven our way through the city streets, but today Alex has made it his unspoken goal for me to feel that anything but happiness is unreachable.

If I thought the art museum had taken me by surprise, nothing prepared me for now. As we pull up to Shedd Aquarium just before eight p.m., my first thought is that it should be closed by now. But then again, with Alex's wealth and the power his name carries, I really shouldn't be questioning anything anymore.

As we approach the entrance, I can't help but stop and take in the towering glass walls of the aquarium, my eyes wide with disbelief. The building is even more breathtaking up close, glowing softly under the night sky. I've truly never seen anything quite like it in my entire life. And I feel a bit disappointed I've lived in the city this long, and have yet to come here.

Alex's hand brushes mine as he notices my lingering gaze. He glances at me with a playful smile. "Have you ever been to an aquarium before?"

I look up at him, surprised by the question. "Once," I admit, my voice soft. "When I was younger, with my mom. But nothing like this... nothing this big." My eyes scan the massive structure again, the excitement building in my chest.

Alex's smile deepens as he leans in closer. "I think you're going to love it here," he says, his voice warm as he places a soft kiss on my lips. "It's pretty special. You ready?"

I nod, still in awe, and he gives my hand a gentle squeeze. "Then let's go inside," he murmurs, guiding me through the entrance, my heart beating rather fast as we step into the glowing world of the aquarium.

The air inside is cool, slightly damn, with a hint of salt. The walls are lined with massive tanks—each one more impressive than the last. Brightly colored fish dart through the water, their scales shimmering in the soft light. I catch myself staring, completely captivated by the creatures.

Alex's soft laugh brings me back to him, his fingers squeezing mine as he leads me further into the aquarium. We stop in front of a massive tank, and I can't stop smiling as a sea turtle glides by, its slow, gentle movements mesmerizing. Honestly it's all so fucking unbelievably beautiful,

"Do you see that?" I whisper, pointing out the sea turtle, it's breathtaking to see one up close like this, with him at my side, his arm wrapped around me.
