Author: Hi, welcome to my new book! Let me tell you about my version of the omegaverse! Some things may follow the typical "guidelines" of an omegaverse, some things may be different. Please remember I am putting things the way I want them to be. Thank you!

...

Heat-    A cycle that lasts around a full week every two months, which makes an omega (both males and females) release very seductive pheromones. This is because their body is going into a "mating" stage, where biologically their bodies are programmed to find an Alpha to 'mate' with.

THERE ARE TWO CLASSES OF HEAT (FOR OMEGAS):

TYPE A. Easily suppressed with proper medication taken in ample time, and won't easily trigger the rut of nearby alphas. (Still can, though, depending on the case)
TYPE B. (RARE) Omegas with this class of heat tend to lock themselves away for the week of their heat. These omegas are put on the highest levels of suppressants with no guarantee that their heat cycle won't overcome the medication, leaving them vulnerable to any sort of  'aggressive' alphas that come in contact with them.

Suppressant-  A medication in various strengths; prescribed to omegas to suppress or potentially cover their heat, depending on their type.

Rut-    Only affects Alphas when they come in contact with an omega in heat. This is due to the omegas' pheromones, and will also trigger the Alpha to start releasing pheromones, which can make it near impossible for them to separate from each other until a successful "mating" is completed.

RANKING SYSTEM:

Alpha- the Highest rank in society, more likely to be seen as CEOs, owners of major companies, and come mostly from old money. Alphas are typically pre-selected to marry other Alphas, keeping a strong and "pure" bloodline for their family.

Beta- Makeup 90% of all hospital staff, teachers, police force, and firefighters; since they don't get affected by pheromones easily. Most betas live an easier and simpler life, having no heat cycles or rut to get triggered. Betas can still be moderately affected by very intense pheromones caused by type B heats.

Omega- Almost but not all sit at the lowest in the social class ranks. Many work as shop attendants, cleaning services, blue-collar jobs, and some manage to get desk jobs. Most jobs, even the simplest, will have you show proof of not having a type B heat, to make sure you can go on suppression medication and not be a "liability" at the job.

...

Male Pregnancy - Only occurs in male Omegas and lasts around 18-20 weeks (half of a female's normal pregnancy). The anatomy and chemistry of the omegas make the fetus grow at a rapid rate. Most babies are born via C-section (can be born naturally, too, though.)

SIGNS OF LABOR IN MALE OMEGAS:
At full term, omegas will experience a tightening pain in their abdomen that will get more intense as minutes go by. They may have pain in their lower back that feels like a sharp weight is sitting on it. Omegas will experience a mild pheromone release that is different from heat; these are more of a euphoric or comforting feeling pheromone. These pheromones are for the child when it's born to create a safe and calm environment for them to know they are with their parent.

During pregnancy, omegas experience a special heat (I call it a suppressed heat) that will attract them to their mated alpha. They secrete an unusual strand of pheromones that only their mated pair will be attracted to.

Random FYI:
Bonding, Fated Mates, and Knotting are kinda like folklore to modern society. It's something that doesn't occur often enough to even be proven that it still happens between Alphas and Omegas.

BUT... that doesn't mean it can't and won't eventually! It just may be a surprise for the folks experiencing it haha!
