Chapter 5

It's been a few since I graduated middle school and I haven't slept enough since then; even before I graduated! I decided to take a good long nap while my big brother (middle child) Eu and my mom were working. I chose the couch since it was comfy, leather furniture and my bed had a shitload of art supplies on it. I got my blanket and pillow and got comfy on the couch. I thought in my head before I slept as usual.

"I should sleep since I'm hanging out with Nathan on Friday. I think anything is a bed so if I sleep anywhere in any of the houses, their parents will think I'm a pain in the keister. Plus it might...be...the last...zzz" I feel asleep. I started to hear two people talking:

"Are you bringing them over now, milady?"

"Indeed I am!"

"It's amazing how you can do all of these things!"

"I'm one hell of a Goddess!"

I opened my eyes and looked around sleepily. I was in front of a wide, flat television screen. A girl with pink hair and fuzzy, tan cat ears on her head was sitting on my left, happily swinging side to side. There was a young muscular adult male sitting with his arms crossed and a leg over his other. His bottom shoe was facing me. The girl looked at me while I was rubbing my eyes. "Eudie-chan!!" You're here!!" She said with a big smile. I looked at her with a face. "You sound familiar..." She introduced herself:

"I am Nina the Neko! I was in my feline form when we met at your... whatchamacallit... skill?...cool?...chewool?"

"OH! I totally forgot! Fuck, I need to charge my brain..."

"S'ok!~" She looked at the guy on my right. "Daaaan! You didn't introduce yourself!!" The dude turned his head to us and looked at me from top to bottom, bottom to top. "Who's this?" he looked at Nina and raised an eyebrow. Nina started to blush and smiled softly. "It's Eudie-chan!" He smirked and introduced himself.

"Hey, name's Danneth Poesidon Penny, but call me Dan. Eudie, right?"

"Eudie Mariana Brito...nice to meet you! You look...young but...you look older"

"Oh." he scoffed in a friendly manner. "I'm twenty four."

"Really?! You looked like you were in high school!" I smiled softly.

A girl started clearing her throat next to him. He looked at her. "Oh! Right...say your name!" She scoffed since she wasn't noticed. "Excuuuuse her! This my little sister Catherine!" He said it in a responsibly strict way. "Hmpf!" she looked away and mumbled gibberish. "She can be sassy at times." Dan rolled his eyes. "Shit, I'm sassy too! Well, more of a shit talker." I said in response. I looked over to Nina, who was licking the fur on her hands. (I can blame her for being a little furball since she's a cat.)

"Everyone listen! Please!" A woman's voice was heard. "Louis, go entertain Junior while I work on this?"

"Yessam!"

"Alright, Everyone! Welcome to our auditorium! I'm Universia, your leader. Don't panic, you're asleep in reality. I just need some moments with you all to give some information to all our newcomers. It may be tough to be away from your family and friends. But they will be watching you battle and you will be able to contact them at any time. Food will be provided and you can be volunteered to cook! Just so you know, you will be staying in a  big school where students go to school during fall until summer. Since it'll be absent during the summertime, we'll be using it as a headquarters. If anything...ANYTHING happens, please contact me. We will be here on June 20th at midnight. We will battle in the middle of  July. Thank you for listening and have a safe trip to this world. I will see you again and in person. Make bonds with those next to you until the next announcement"

The television turned off.

Everyone started talking to one another. "Hey, where're you from?" Danneth asked me. "I'm from New England. My state's Massachusetts." I answered. Dan lightened up. "Oh! We're from Rhode Island!" He replied. "It's nice having a person from New England around. Some are from Japan, England, Canada, or even the Carribean countries. It's kinda cool how the Mistress made us communicate so easily. Most of these guys would be in deep shit if they didn't have Universia help with communication, am I right?" I nodded in agreement.

"I heard we're having a tour around the school when we unpack. I hope I don't get lost. Never been to that school but it's huge. It's bigger than colleges with dorms." Danny said. Danneth is a cool guy already. I looked around and raised an eyebrow. "When are we going to awake? I don't wanna sleep all day...even though I need a full day of sleep." I blushed embarrassingly. "I work as a lifeguard half of the day. I need a week of sleep from all the girls hitting on me. It's pretty wholesome but its also...odd?" Dan sighed, shaking his head, chuckling and I started to chuckle with him. "How is that odd..?"

"It's just odd because they're moms will be on it too!" We both started laughing. "Dawg, what?!" I covered my mouth, laughing.

Nina's head was buried in her knees. "Too much noiiiiise!!" I looked at her. "I bet it's loud, you're a cat" I think I said this but she has those neko ears like the girls in anime but instead of a regular girl, she has cat features on her face...what the hell is she??? Nina lifted her head. I asked her what species was she. "I'm a type of species here in this world. Most of the felines died from 'Berserk' because of the pepper like things that were grown in the forest from what I heard. I didn't eat them but my family did. My mom survived, but she left the forest after keeping me safe with Universia when I was a kitten. I haven't seen her since then. I know she's around since she sends me signs and messages to Universia's way. She's too literbee...litteroot...litterbug??" Nina-senpai tilted her head.

"Literate?"

"Yeah! That! The Mistress has to help me read it sometimes!"

Dan looked at Nina and I. "Hey, just so you know..Don't you worry. The four of us are in a group so I'll protect you guys! Especially this one, even though she helps with medical aid."
His sister gasped. "I CAN FIGHT TOO!" Dan's sister crossed her arms.

"...Are you on it or something?" I asked.

"You're so immature...God.." Catherine said and looked away from us.

"Ouch." Dan said, pouting in mockery. "For your uterus that is." he then winked which made Catherine put her hand out to him.

I held in my laughter. The television went on again. "You! Listen!" Dan told Cate strictly. She rolled her eyes, blowing hair out of her face.

"My apologies for the wait. I hope you got along with your companions well! Just to remind you, we're here on July 20th at midnight. Please put that in your calendars, I will remind you once in a while in your minds. Please don't worry about the war, enjoy your time until the end of July. Be safe until then. You will be awakened now; I will see you again..."

I suddenly woke up to my brother sitting on the other couch. "Oh my goodness, I was worried you were unconscious. It's evening by the way. 7:42PM. You were asleep since I got here." I was sleeping since one o'clock...

I'm fine with it since I met such awesome people during it! This might not be so bad after all!
