Chapter 7

Later that day, the announcement for everyone was going to be on. I waited by watching television myself. It'll be on loved one's phone but it'll be on TV for anywhere the people live. "Hurry up..." I checked the time. The television started to glitch. "Is it starting?" I asked myself while moving a little closer. Universia and an assistant were on television. The assistant was a blonde, nicely dressed man with glasses

The Mistress cleared her throat:

"Hello, friends and family! I'm here to give you an important notice. I'm going to tell you that some that you know are going to war. You can watch to make sure they're safe and you can contact them anytime. They will be fighting for the rest of the summer and so forth. Now then, we will say the names of the men in New England who are going to be fighting with us."

The assistant took out a paper. he had an English accent.

"Here are the people who are joining us at war:

Catherine E. Penny - Rhode Island
Danneth P. Penny - Rhode Island
Eudie M. Brito - Massachusetts

That is all."

"Thank you, Louis." Universia thanked him.

"Those three and the other soldiers are going to pack and go on a tour on June 19th and are leaving the next day, June 20th at midnight. That is all I have for today. Thank you in advance."  The television turned off instead of going back to the game show I was watching.

Someone called me. I checked and it was Dan.

"Yo."

"Didja see that?"

"Of course I did! She turned off my
Game Show!!"

Dan started laughing.

"Hold on, I'm getting some messages on this phone."

Dan understood and I put him on hold.

I checked my phone again. A lot of students from school texted me. "Nathan, Paulie, A-Al?! What?!" I then heard a door open nearby me. My mother was coming out of her room. She was staring at me. "Hey, Ma..." I was getting scared by her staring. "Eudie, what was that on the TV?" My mom said while pointing at her room with her pen. "M-Ma, don't go crazy, don't cause a scene." I stood up. "War?! No no no...you can't go..!"

"Ma, everything was so sudden. I-I didn't agree with this. Shit...I may be protecting you guys for goodness sakes. I gotta do this and there's no turning back...unfortunately." I said to her. She stayed quiet and sighed. "I'm sorry but I have to go. I'm leaving on the 20th. So just..pleaaase have hope for me! I'm...I'm scared Ma..." My mother came to me. I noticed I was still on the phone

"I gotta go, Dan." I hung up on Dan and checked my messages. I saw Al's:

Al: hey Eud i saw that thing on tv
Al: i know we dont talk much anymore but ill be watching you kick some ass and i hope ur safe when you leave.
Al: if anythin happens to you
Al: im sorry
Al: idk just sorry

After reading that, I sighed and went to the next one.

I smiled once I saw Paulie's.

Paulie: I know you're going to be safe and I know you're gonna be brave. I believe in you Eudie-chan! I know youre gonna come back to see me!~ Make sure you bring Bobby with you when you leave.

(Bobby is her cute goat plush that she let me have on the second to last day of school)

I saw Nathan's:

Violet: Please be safe. Don't die. Well I know your gonna show those fuckfaces why they shouldn't mess with you! but
Violet: I'm worried that youll get really bad injuries. No... I know youll be fine. Ill be waiting for you to come back. Take the pictures of the three of us with you."

I smiled and pressed the power button. I went to go pack my bags and then I felt my mom standing by my door. "Yeah...?" Mom walked over to me and hugged me right.

"Meu querido bebê...
Please take care of my sweet baby..."

I paused then hugged her bag just as tight. "I'll be okay, Mamãe...be strong for me so I can be strong for you..." She pulled away and looked at me teary eyed. "Now, I can't say no to that...!" We both smiled softly and continued hugging each other.
