Chapter 13

I was spread out on my bed in the nice pajamas they had for the soldiers to sleep in at night; they were the softest pieces of fabric I've worn in my fourteen years of life. I was sleeping soundly and drooling a bit until I felt someone shaking my body to awaken. "Eudie, wake up! It's time to train for our battle!"; It was Dan's voice. I groan and sat up with my strands of hair sticking from left to right, front and back from my head. "Nn...gimme a sec." I mumbled and rubbed my eyes while getting out of bed. "Cool. I gotta go wake up Catherine, mind waking up Nina for me?" Danny asked that favor when he went to the bed across from me where Cathy was. "Sis...? Time to get up!" Danneth shook his little sister gently until she awoke. "Ugh..whaaat? I'm sleeping!" Catherine groaned her question.

"We're gonna train...wanna come?" Dan asked his little sister. "I don't wanna be alone! You know that!" She sat up, whining. "That's why I'm asking you!" Danny responded to Catherine in a soothing voice. "I'm obviously gonna say yes. Plus, I wanna see your big ass torture these guys with your exercises." Catherine had a smirk and all of a sudden, a screech was heard and both siblings looked at me with human Nina clinging to my back, startled. "...There's a thing on my back and her claws are literally inside me." I said trying to resist the pain on my back. "Nina you're wet- OH MY GOD DID YOU THROW WATER AT HER?!" Dan went over to me. "She didn't wake up...so I did it the hard way..." I said quietly feeling something down my back as if it was blood. "My shoulders hurt so much..." Nina's hands were on my shoulders while her feet were on my back. "Nina get off of her!" Danny went behind me and gently pulled Nina off of me. "Damn, you got Eudie good." Dan puts Nina's still body on her bed and got a first aid kit under his bed. "Lemme clean these scars and we can go down to the gym, kay?"

"Sure- H-HEY! WHAT'S WITH THE SHIRT LIFTING BACK THERE?!" I blushed lightly while he put some sort of medicine on my back and shoulders. Catherine was looking at my front and had a blank face. "...I didn't know you were that big-" Dan interrupted and shouted at her. "Catherine!!" I blushed madly. "Sh-Shut up!! Look who's talking!!" I huffed as Dan put my shirt down and pats my shoulder. "I think that's enough talk about your fronts and backs." We both nodded and looked away from Dan. "It feels better now though. Thank you." I thanked him softly and rubbed my arm.

"No problem! That ointment heals any wound or cut in a snap!" Danny smiles as he showed me the ointment. "'Aloe-Vera Magica'?" I read the label on the...lotion? "This isn't lotion? Why is it in a lotion container?" I asked tilting my head at Danny and he took the ointment back in the first aid kit.

"Well, Eudie I'm glad you ask! It's different here in CPU. Everything is worth buying for a low cost. Like this ointment! Instead of buying more and more of those tubes, you can just get this and make it last for just $2.35 in American money." Danneth explained. "Woah! Aren't people all over stuff like this for cheap?!" I asked while getting those 'slip-on-slippers' they had on my feet. "Nah, there's limited stock for them. It's pretty fair here!" He replied to me while he got his 'slip-on-slippers' on. "I'll tell you more on the way, my sister obviously left once I talked about the ointment. And Nina-" Nina was gone too. "Huh...Cathy must've dragged the poor thing with her. Let's go meet up at the gym then." Dan pats my back and walks out the door. I followed him since he OBVIOUSLY knew this place more than me. "It's in the basement! Actually, the whole basement IS the gym but it's whatever." He shrugs and walks me down and touring me as we go down the escalators. "This here is the 'Bond n' Bar'. Funny name, huh? It's like a hang out place with a pub that has all kinds of drinks. You can only get the virgin drinks, I'm guessing...the pub's closed now but the 'Bonding Center' is opening later. It has chocolate, candy-"

"Candy?! Chocolate?!" I repeated his last few words and we both stop walking. "Yeah. Choco Kissus, Butterscotch, Fruit Suckerz, Choco-Nutz-" I cut him off and responded with enthusiasm. "All of those sound so good! I have to try them later on!" My hands were holding my chest. "Yeah, sure! It's more popular around dusk so you can meet others. You look like someone who needs help during times like these, y'know?" Danneth told me sincerely. He was right; this IS war and I kinda need to help and get help from others in the army and other troops. Speaking of this war, I'm still wondering why we are fighting. I got some hints from the destruction almost everywhere in CPU, there's also Universia who is somehow depressed so this destruction affected her tragically. I kept thinking about it until Dan snapped me to reality. "Eudie, let's go before it's too late." I nodded. "R-Right."

We proceed going down to the basement (A.K.A Gym) and meet up with the other two girls. We saw little Penny stomping towards the big guy. "There you guys are! Geez! Stop touring her already!' Catherine complained to her older brother with crossed arms. The tiny babe looked up to her huge brother and glared. "You have wasted thirty-six minutes of my time today, Dan." She kept going on and on to Danny. "Sorry, I got carried away but we're here now so...!" He clapped both of his hands together with a smile. "Let's get started!" All three of us nodded and then I looked around to see Nina walking towards us with a tight tank top and sweatpants on. "I'm ready to suffer..." she says with a pout on her face. "You're not gonna suffer, Nina." Danneth rolled his eyes with a smile. "Eudie, you should get dressed too. The outfits are in the locker room."

I nod and walk to the corner of the gym. The gym was huge! There was an area for cardio, an area for weights, an area for training with swords, and an area for a break or two; and this gym was a big gym! I almost lost myself in the basement! Once I went into the locker room, there were rows of lockers and rows of benches. There was a big sauna at the end of the locker room with a door closing the humidity. There was a 'Rule Board' showing the rules in the locker room. It was pretty neat too! It smelled like...cherry blossoms? How the hell do I know what cherry blossoms smell like?! That's beside the point! I think I'm going to like it here in CPU! Maybe it won't be that bad. I feel warm when I'm in CPU...when I hear the Mistress' name you feel safe. Now that I'm seeing a small part of what the world used to look like and some information about this universe, I feel like everything will be okay during this war...maybe it won't be that bad.

All I gotta do now is wait.
