Chapter 17

Balls of sweat were forming on my skin from training so much after breakfast. Shit, I felt like throwing up egg curds covered in bile any second! Danny noticed my sick face and furrowed his eyebrows. "Hey Eudie, go lay down for a bit..." He said and he rubbed my back as I nodded and lumbered over to my bed and plopped on it stomach first and groaned loudly. Even after a quick rinse with everyone, new sweat was made out of the blue- or maybe I'm overreacting? ...nah. "You gonna be alright, kid?" Danneth kneeled next to the edge of the bed where my head faced. "Yeah...I just need a few to reevaluate my life." I sighed. "Sorry for making you train so hard, this is war after all. I don't want you to die I mean you're a young lady who has a lot ahead of her!" I just couldn't help but smile at the words. "You sure about that? I'm just scum around the edge of a toilet bowl. Nobody notices it- matter of fact, I'm unburnable trash." I told him looking at him with my uncovered eye. "Don't say that! Look, I don't know you that well but it's my duty to make sure you and Nina-chan are safe during all battles! Don't say you're scum or un...burnable trash? Is that even a word? Anyways, I'm not a boss, I'm a leader. Leadership isn't just about being in charge, it's about taking care of the ones you're in charge of." He quoted as I perked up. "Wow, you must be those compassionate people..." I replied while lifting my head up.

"He is."

Catherine interrupted us and focused our attention on her; I forgot, her bed was a few feet next to mine. "I bet you're the complete opposite. He's nice, you're mean- you freakin' attacked him at the gym earlier! Look at the bruise you made right on his arm!" Forgot to mention during training, Catherine let her anger out on her brother. Supposedly Danny called her a 'giant'; you see, Cate is not obese or HUGE but she's chubby. The whole thing had started while they spoke in Greek. Anyways, Catherine rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "I said I was sorry!!" Dan furrowed his eyebrows and made a face of regret. They then argued back and forth once again in Greek (who knows what they said) until I heard a noise from the door. Nina perked her cat ears and turned her head to our door while sitting with her human legs crossed on her bed like a kid at elementary school. "Shut up for a second. I heard the door!" I raised my voice and looked at Nina. "Mind getting the door, Nina-chan?"

"What's a door?"

"Never mind. Just say 'Come in'"

"Cumin?!"

"Come in!!" I smiled lightly as I repeated myself and a majestic voice replied to me. "'Come in?' If you say so!" The person was entering our password since we heard the beeps and boops and we heard the door open up as heels were touching the floor to enter. It was Universia and two bodyguards. "Alright men, wait by the door. I won't be long!" The two men nodded then left our room. Danneth got up with pink cheeks again; this is gonna be good. He bowed and lifted himself up with a smile on his face. Cate was smirking, knowing him and all. "Good morning, Universia! Did you need me?" Dan's ears were a light pink as he spoke and I couldn't help but join Catherine on the silent giggles. Nina? Nina was in cat form rubbing her face on Universia's leg. The Mistress picked Nina up and held her in her arms as the pink ball of fluff purred. "Indeed! I must speak to you about your troop. I want you to be more alert and more protective over your comrades, especially the young dear Eudie." She then looked at me and once I made contact with her, a warm sensation was flowing in my body. "Yes, Milady. I won't keep her out of my sight. She'll be okay with a leader like me, no doubt!" Danneth placed a hand on his heart and smiled gently at me and Catherine stared at him. "Your sister too right?" She stood up and crossed her arms, tapping her little foot. "Yeah, sure." Danny lifted his brows for a split second and then had his attention on the Goddess. "I'll make sure she's okay even if I have to sacrifice my life when she's in danger..." Universia smiled at Dan and put her free hand on his cheek; Danneth's cheeks became darker. "I'm sure you will, Mr. Penny. I believe in you and these three young ladies. Your bond will grow bigger soon, I'm sure of it." She then places Nina on the floor and smiles at all four of us, showing she cares. "I must go. Peace and love to all of you.~" The Misses then exits the room after that sentence which left Danneth blushing.
