Sparks Fly

Chapter 9

Calypso

Pregnant. The word seemed to weigh a ton in my mind as I walked down the halls of this ship. I couldn't breathe in my room, it was like the walls were closing in on me. Just walking down this hall was feeling claustrophobic. My breathing drew ragged, my head began to pound. 

"Calypso?" said a voice. Looking up, I saw a blurry figure approach me. "You alright?" said the voice. "Yeah" I said in barely a whisper. I felt the ground shift, I reached for the wall for balance but missed, slamming my head against the wall, hard. 

"Help!" the person screamed. I looked up as the figure came into view, my vision focused. Jason stood over me, I could tell he was talking but I couldn't hear him. "J-" I began but my voice was slurred. Black dots blurred my vision and soon, all I could see was black.

Leo

"Obviously Frank. He killed like, a kazillion to save me. He has to be the best boyfriend" said Hazel. Piper scoffed. "Pfft, that? Jason is obviously the best". "Please, have you guys known your boyfriends since you were twelve? Did they give up immortality for you? Did they fall into Tartarus with you? I'm just getting started here" said Annabeth, crossing her arms. "Don't forget they matching strands of grey hair from lifting the sky babe" said Percy, wrapping his arm around her shoulders. 

The other girls remained quiet while their respective partners looked offended. "I thought so" she smirked. 

Suddenly, Jason came flying into the room. "Collasped. Hallway. Passed out. Help" he gapsed. "Woah, what's going on?" asked Piper, as everyone stood up. "Calypso collasped in the hallway, she's blacked out" he breathed. He had me at Calypso, I sprinted past him to the hallway. "Calypso!" I exclaimed before running to her side. 

"No" I whispered, brushing the hair out of her face. It wasn't long before we were surrounded by our friends. The heat began to build up, and I started breathing heavy. "Leo, calm down" said Annabeth. I looked down at my hands, sparks arose from them, and i yanked them away from Calypso. "I-I can't" I yelled, as the fire grew in my hands. 

Percy began pulling me down the hall, away from Calypso, only making the fire grow. "No! She needs me!" I exclaimed, trying to get back to her. "You could hurt her, Frank will take her to the emergency room" screamed Percy as he struggled to hold me back. 

"Little help?" yelled Percy to Jason. Jason send a gust of wind, only putting out the fire for a few seconds so they could get me on deck. "I need her!" I screamed, setting my entire body on fire, causing Percy to be flown back. "Leo!" yelled Jason, blowing the wind at me but it didn't stop the flames. 

Heat surged from my body, I couldn't stop it. I began to panic. "Leo! I don't want to hurt you" yelled, Percy, regaining his footing. I saw that his left side was badly burned. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry" I yelled over the winds. 

I couldn't stop myself. I didn't want to hurt anyone else. I surrounded myself in a forcefield of flames. I looked up at the sky to see a massive eagle flying high above with a woman laying on its back. I instantly recgonized it as Calypso so the eagle had to be Frank. 

Then, a surge of water came crashing down on me. I felt my flames go out as quickly as they came as I crashed into the lake below. I was surronded by water and as a small mexican man like myself, I couldn't swim. I tried to scream for help but only ended up swallowing more water. 

As I began to feel myself slip away, a hand pulled me to the surface. When my head got out of the water, I coughed up what felt like an entire ocean. Percy towed me to the bank, and laid me on the ground. Breathing heavy, I looked up at my two friends. 

"Why do this sort of stuff keep happening" I asked, catching my breath. "Just our luck I guess" said Percy. "Sorry about the-" I said, pointing to his face. "Oh, I can fix that" he said with a smirk. He created a ball of water from the lake, floating it in the air over to us. He dipped his face in it and when he pulled out, he looked just as sexy as ever. 

"Show off" I muttered. "We need to get the the hospital? You okay?" asked Jason, taking out his cell. When we got to the hospital, we were immediately taken to the waiting room were everyone (not Annabeth, she was taking care of the kids) was. 

"Where is she?" I asked, not wasting a second. I had to find her, if not, this whole place could go up in flames. "Sir" said a voice. I turned and saw a nurse standing with a clipboard. "Calypso Valdez, can I see her" I asked, approaching the nurse. 

I'm sure I looked a little crazy. Clothes burned and falling off, scorch marks on my body, a few cuts. "Sir, why don't we get you checked out first" he said, looking me over. "No, okay? I need to see her now, you can run all the tests you want after I see her okay?" I said, glaring at him. I knew he could see the fire in my eyes and he nodded. 

I followed him down the halls of the hospital, with each step, I felt worse and worse, I imagined everything that could go wrong with her. When we reached the door, the doctor let me in myself and gave us some privacy. 

Calypso was behind the curtain. I couldn't see her but I could feel her in the room. She had that effect on me. "Leo" said a weak voice. I gasped at her voice. "Oh don't just stand there, come here fire boy" she said softly. A smile cracked on my face as I walked over to her. 

"You're okay" I breathed. Calypso smiled. She looked stunning as ever. "Of course I'm okay. I'm not going anywhere anytime soon" she said as she wrapped her arms around me. I held her close, afraid to let her go. "I love you" I whispered. "I love you too" she replied. 

"Leo, I need to tell you something" she said, pulling away. "Anything" I said, sitting down. Calypso took my hand in her own. "Gods I should have told you a while ago" she muttered. "What is it?" I asked with a smile. "Leo, I'm a- I'm pregnant. Or um, I think so. I was but I don't know if I am anymore but I think I'm pregnant. I-I am pregnant, I think"
