Chapter 19

***QUESTION: What do you guys think of the new cover? I figured since there is no longer Caleo in this book, I'd change it and since Thaleo wasn't even in the first half, they couldn't be the cover either so I chose to go with just Leo. Props to Virvia for making it even though I totally just stole it off the internet without permission but you know what, its positive advertising so I'm going to do it anyways. I'm a rebel. Leo

And so, Jason, Thalia and I were off. It slipped Thalia's mind to tell Jason that I would be joining them but she had other things on her mind that night (wink wink). You could imagine the suprise when Thalia and I roll up in my pickup RV. 

This of course, was no ordinary RV. It was made from celestial bronze, painted red with flames. I nthe back, there were 2 twin size beds. Along the walls was storage for weapons. The whole thing was complete with a fridge, bathroom, sink, countertops, sitting area and of course, on the roof was space for someone to sit to fight off whatever decided to attack us.

I sat in the drivers seat, here I could control everything. I could shoot missiles, full view of the front, sides and back of the RV. Using the same technology I had used to create the Argo, I always had Festus available to drive and take control at any time. 

"Climb aboard Jason, make yourself at home" I said, pulling in front of the Grace home. Piper was on the porch with Chris who was only 4. Jason stood there, dumbfounded with his pack on his back, sword on his belt and superman t-shirt on. 

"Uh, Leo? What are you doing here?" he asked, climbing inside. Thalia giggled. "I forgot to tell you, Leo insisted upon coming. Sorry" she said, taking his bag and stowing it in the back. "No, no, its fine, I just wasn't expecting a giant flaming RV to pick me up and take me away is all" he said, settling down on the couch. I honked the horn and waved to Piper and Chris who were watching from the porch. Piper looked horrified when I pulled away which only made me laugh harder. 

"So, where to?" I asked. "Uh, South Dakota I guess" said Thalia who sat next to her brother. I nodded, putting the location into Festus' intel. I made sure everything was square before putting it on auto pilot and walking back to sit with my crew. 

"Its been a while since it was you and I on a quest eh?" said Jason with a smile. I nodded. "Awe, I miss being attacked by hundreds of monsters with you. Glad we get the chance to do that again" I said sarcastically. Jason chuckled, "I am too, this time we get to bring my big sis along" he said, nudging her in the ribs. 

Thalia, in response, punched him as hard as she could in the shoulder, knocking him over. Thalia and I erupted with laughter as Jason scrammbled to get up off the floor. "Hey, Piper wants me back in once piece" he said, pointing at the two of us. We just laughed at our friends misfortune. 

For the next few hours, there was only laughter. We talked and enjoyed ourselves, laughing until our stomaches hurt. It was so much fun, I had forgotten how much I missed being with my friends on the road. It had been almost 10 years since I went on my first quest with Jason and Piper. 

Of course, our laughter ended when a giant boulder landed just feet away from the RV. A roar came from the right, within seconds, Jason had his sword out and Thalia with her bow. I jumped to the drivers seat, prepping the missiles. 

"Here we go again" I muttered, looking up to see a 30 foot tall giant hurling a boulder at us.
