Grian POV
The night of the mission arrived, and the atmosphere was thick with anticipation, the kind that made your skin tingle and your heart beat faster. As much as I hated the idea of playing a role, I had to admit, there was something oddly fun about this one. Besides, who could resist playing the seductive, mysterious type at a club?
I’d pulled out my best outfit for this, of course. Tight, black leather pants with silver studs running down the sides, paired with a shimmering crop top that barely covered the essentials. My wings were tucked in, but they peeked out from under a sheer black jacket that clung to my frame. The ensemble screamed “rave goddess” with a hint of danger, the kind of look that drew eyes without even trying. I slipped on a pair of boots that made a satisfying thud as I walked, the sound almost as striking as the sway of my hips.
I was ready to catch some attention. But not from just anyone. No, I had one target tonight. And that target was Hot Guy, whose ridiculous disguise already had me grinning.
I met him at the club, but he was hardly the man I expected to see. His cane, a sleek black bow disguised as a walking aid, caught my eye immediately. It was clever—too clever—and I couldn’t help but admire his effort. The way he carried himself, so poised and calculated, was a bit of a turn-on. It was a good thing I was playing coy, or I might’ve just leapt across the room to tug him into a kiss.
But for now, I needed to play the part. I walked towards him slowly, letting my heels click sharply against the floor, making sure my steps were slow and deliberate. I could feel his eyes on me, even before I reached him, and the way he looked at me made my heart beat faster.
"Well, well," I purred, voice teasing. "What’s a handsome guy like you doing here all alone?" I ran a finger down the stem of my drink, making sure he saw the movement. "Not quite the type to fit in here, are you?"
I leaned in just enough so he could catch the faintest hint of the perfume I wore, something sweet but with a touch of spice—just like me. My wings shifted slightly beneath my jacket, almost like they were whispering a secret to him, and I made sure to keep eye contact, letting him feel the heat of my gaze.
His reaction was priceless. The confused look on his face was a mix of amusement and intrigue, like he knew I was up to something but couldn’t quite put it together yet. I couldn’t help but smirk.
"I’m not sure what you mean," he replied, his voice smooth but tinged with curiosity. "I’m just here enjoying the night. And what about you? Shouldn't you be out there dancing, not... flirting with the locals?"
I let out a soft laugh, leaning a little closer, just enough to make him feel like he was the one on edge. "I do like to dance, but sometimes," I paused, biting my lower lip just a little, "it’s more fun to get a guy to do it for me."
His eyes narrowed in thought. "You seem like trouble," he muttered, but I could tell he was fighting a smile. I was getting to him.
"Oh, I’m definitely trouble," I whispered, lowering my voice to a seductive tone. "But trouble is a lot more fun when you know how to handle it."
I knew I was playing the game well, but I also knew it wasn’t long before he’d figure out who I really was. The moment came faster than I thought when I noticed his gaze shift to my eyes—really look at them—and something clicked.
He stared for a moment, then said with a sly grin, "Wait a minute... Are you really who I think you are?"
I couldn’t hold back my laugh. "Took you long enough, Hot Guy," I teased, making sure to slide a little closer. "I’m flattered that you didn’t recognize me sooner."
