I'm late, I'm late, I'm late

Throwing on the most casual outfit I could find, I quickly rush into the hallway, immediately bumping into Jenna.

"Gabby!" She exclaims after noticing it's me. "I need your help."

"I would love to, Jenna, but I'm pretty sure I'm running late," I answer, taking a few steps back towards the stairs.

She gives a dismissive wave. "You'll be fine. Elena's not even ready. Now, do I look like a respectful guardian/parental figure?"

"Depends, where are you going?" Elena questions, stepping out of her room.

"Jeremy's parent-teacher conference." Jenna walks over to a mirror and asks "Hair up or down?"

She puts her hair up, only to get the response, "Sexy stewardess" Elena replies.

Jenna drops her hair and pats it in place. I squinch my nose. "Boozy housewife," I reply.

"Up it is." Jenna sighs before looking over at my twin. She notices her outfit. "You're feisty today, Elena."

Elena nods her head, giving a confident smile to both of us. "I feel good you know. I just thought to go with it. Lie free, walk on sunshine, and all that stuff," she admits before walking downstairs.

"Where is Jer?" I question before bending down. I gather my hair before standing back up, quickly tying it into a ponytail. The ends of my curls gently brush my shoulders.

"He left early. He said something about woodshop to finish a birdhouse." Jenna shrugs as she looks at herself in the mirror.

I stare at her with a confused look. She stares at me through the mirror. Her mouth opens slightly as the realization hits her after seeing my confused expression. "There is no woodshop Is there?"

"Nope," I say popping the P.

He must've gone to the hospital to see Vicki. Aww, that's sweet. Or he's getting high. Hopefully the latter. He does not need a screw-up like Vicki in his life.

"I brought it. Told you," Stefan says smugly as we walk down the hall. He pulls out a book and hands it to Elena.

"Wuthering Heights by Ellis Bell. I can't believe she didn't use her real name!" Elena exclaims, excited about literature.
Boring.

"It was a time where female writers weren't accepted yet," Stefan explains, giving a shy smile.

"Where did you get it?"

"Yeah, where did you get it?" I repeat, being annoying as possible. She glares at me as I give an innocent smile.

"Um, it was passed down...the family," Stefan responds, ignoring Elena's glare towards me. He hesitated a little. What is this guy hiding?

"Keep it," he insists, giving a careless shrug.

"I would like to read it though. I'll--" Elena starts but I just tune her out at the sight of Caroline and Bonnie. I ditch her and Stefan, attempting to catch up with the two girls.

I pass Tyler on my way to them. He does indeed have a black eye. He glares at me as I innocently smile.

I finally catch up with Bonnie and Caroline, catching a bit of their conversation. "So are you physic or clairvoyant?" Caroline asks.

"Neither, just crazy," I tease making myself known. Bonnie rolls her eyes.

"Technically Grams says I'm a witch." Bonnie sighs. "My ancestors were these really cool witch chicks or something, but Grams tried to explain it all but she was looped on the liquor so I tuned out. Crazy family? Yes. Witches? No, I don't think so."
