EditedDamon left not too long ago, leaving me alone in my room with nothing but my thoughts. I can't help but feel regret. Not for the act itself, but for doing it here. That's just...awkward.
A knock on my bedroom door interrupts my thoughts. "Yeah," I say, allowing whoever to enter. I stand, making it look like I'm about to get ready.
I raise a brow as Elena enters my room. "Hey," she greets.
"Uh, hey," I say back, "What's up?"
"Nothing." She shrugs her shoulders. "I just thought we could talk."
"About?" I pick out the clothes I plan on wearing today.
"Well, we've been through a lot recently. You've been through worse, actually. I thought you might want to talk about it. About the times you've been kidnapped or your run ins with Katherine. Anything really."
I scoff. "What exactly do you want me to say. Elena?"
"I don't know!" She exclaims, but not too loudly. "Just...tell me how you feel?"
I pull on my shirt. "Elena that's not...really my specialty." I make eye contact with her. "I don't like talking about that stuff so freely."
"What do you mean?" Elena asks.
"I mean, I don't want to relive past traumas that I've managed to block out." I accidentally look down at the scar on my thigh. I feel her following my gaze, forcing me to pull up my pants quickly. "It's not a big deal, anyway. Nobody got hurt the other day."
"No," she admits, "but now we know someone's after us."
"And we'll fix it, like we've been doing."
"But for how long?" she snaps, "because every problem we've faced is followed by another and I want to make sure your mentality will be—"
"What, stable?" I snap. "My mentality is fine. In fact, I should be asking you this. Or even Jeremy!"
She sighs. "Fine. I'll change the subject."
"Go tell Jeremy," I dismiss.
"I can't really talk to Jeremy about this..." she trails off, giving me an awkward look.
My heart drops. "Oh my god you're pregnant," I gasp, making her eyes widen.
"No! You know Stefan can't..."
I sigh in relief. "Right, right." I pull on my leather jacket. "Than what is it you can't talk to Jeremy about?"
"Well..." she trails off, looking at my bed.
My cheeks begin to blaze with heat. "Oh my god," I mumble, "I thought we—"
"You were, you were," she reassures, my cheeks still blaze with heat. "I saw him leave this morning."
"That's right..." I sigh, "you wake up early." I give her an expectant look, waiting for her to scold me or yell at me or do whatever she plans on doing.
"Look, I remember my first time so I know it's not always the best. I just thought you would wait for the...perfect guy or something."
"Oh because Matt was your perfect guy," I scoff, shaking my head. "I love Damon, alright? Most importantly, I like him. I really like him. My choices for my, uh, romantic life are based off my emotions. So just...let me do me, okay?"
