I comb my fingers through my curls, attempting to detangle them without causing frizz. I smile at myself in the mirror, admiring my good looks. I really was genetically blessed. I step out of my room, backpack in hand so I can meet Elena downstairs.

Movement out of the corner of my eye forces me to look over. Jeremy's sketching away at his sketchbook, causing me to smile. He's drawing again.

Jenna and Elena are gonna want to hear about this.

I eagerly hop onto the rail of the stairway sliding down with a,"Wheee!"

"Gabby, I told you not to do that," Jenna scolds from the kitchen.

"Guess what!" I exclaim, ignoring her comment. I lean against the kitchen island. Elena's making coffee while Jenna's flipping through a newspaper.

"What?" Elena asks before setting a mug of coffee before me. I give a grateful smile.

"Jeremy is drawing in his sketch book again!" I announce. Elena and Jenna give surprised looks. "But don't say anything. If we encourage him he will just put it away." I take a sip of my coffee.

Elena's phone buzzes, causing her to quickly look at it. She sighs in disappointment before putting it away.

"You and Stefan?" Jenna asks, earning a reluctant look from Elena. "Any updates?" Elena sighs.

"He knows how I feel and where I stand, and I know how he stands, but it doesn't matter," Elena explains. She sips from her mug. "He's leaving. He's moving away."

Since when? Will Damon leave too?

"Where's he going?" Aunt Jenna asks.

"I've stopped asking questions." Elena sighs again. "The answers get scary." Yeah, no shit.

"Yours leaves mine returns," Jenna mumbles.

"Logan?" I question with a frown.

"Yeah, He tried to get in. I didn't let him past the door though," Jenna answers with a sly smile.

"I hope you slammed it in his face."

    "Medium slam," Jenna admits sheepishly.

"Jenna," Elena and I playfully scold.

"No more Logan Scumfell!" She cheers instead, finding the good out of it. I smile anyway and raise my mug to it.

    Gotta love Aunt Jenna.

The school day came and went with nothing to show for it. I went to my classes, ignored my teachers when I shouldn't, and went up ten levels on Candy Crush.

Despite all of the good that happened today, I still can't help but think of what happened last night. Damon lost his only chance to save Katherine. Yeah, he almost killed Bonnie over it, but his look of despair hurt to see.

He's hurt right now. And when Damon's hurt, he lashes out.

I'm pulled out of my thoughts by Elena elbowing my side. "Gabby, you there?" She asks, making me roll my eyes.

I elbow her back. "Yeah, I'm here." I notice Bonnie standing beside her. She's staring ahead with a confused look. I follow her gaze only to see Caroline giggling at something Matt of all people said.
