For the rest of the week I stayed home.

I had numerous texts and phone calls and even a couple visits.

When he texted I'd delete it before reading it. When he called I would let it ring until he reached my voicemail.

When he stopped by to visit me I'd pretend to be sleeping or have someone who was here tell them I'm not here.

I heard my phone go off it was a phone call from my mom.

I picked up of course.

"Hey mom."

"Hey baby, why aren't you in school? In face why have you been absent the entire week. Your school called me. I swear to god if it's a dumb reason so help me Natalie-"

"Mom!" I cut her off with an eye roll even though she couldn't see me. "I found Ashton fucking Veronica. That's why I have been absent the entire week. I'm heartbroken mom. I need my mom, but you're out doing God knows what."

I started to tear up. "Baby I've been gone on business. I'm so sorry baby. I'll be home tonight. Plus I have good news!"

I could practically hear her smile. "What is it?" I asked in a bored tone.

"I got a promotion. So now I get to stay home all the time. But I will still have work and have to go in. I have my schedule but I will be home a lot more."

I grinned really big. "Thank gosh! I miss my mom!"

"I miss you too baby. I gotta go now, I have a meeting to tend to. But after the meeting I'll be on my way home."

"Okay mom see you soon!" I hung up and looked around.

I have some house work on my hands.
