Episode 4: Spudey's!

"-AAAGH!" Zooble finally landed on the floor of the chain restaurant with a hard thud.

Gangle straightened her tie. "—Well, I guess I should get into manager mode and get us all kicked off." She went around the place, powering on all the machines.

"And with that out of the way, let's get to work, guys!"

"-oh, no! It looks like I've taken Ragatha..." Jax Says as he literally picks up Ragatha.
"Huh?"
He holds her above his head before tossing her in hot oil. "...And dropped her in the deep fryer."

You slap a hand over your mouth as she screams and kicks her legs frantically.
"It hasn't even been five minutes..." you sigh.

"-Oh, no no no no no no NO. We can't have ANYTHING like that going on around here." Gangle stomps over, scolding him.

Jax smirks and crosses his arms over his chest.
"What are you gonna do about it, though?"

"Have mercy." You whisper to yourself. Jax looks really HOT in that uniform.

"-I'm calling upper management. Y/n, don't think I can't see you being thirsty over there, be more professional!!" Gangle pulls out a pink flip phone to call Caine.

Jax takes one step away from you.

Caine, who was upside down in an office chair, quickly flips back up to answer Gangle's call. "-Mmmmyello?"

"-Hey, Caine. We're having a bit of an issue with the employees, and I was wondering if you could maybe have a punishment waiting for them at the end of the day if they do a terrible job?"

"-Wait, what?"

"-Motivation!" Caine shouts. "That's what my adventures have been missing! Great idea, Gangle. I'll be sure to make something TRULY awful awaiting your rotten employees." He hangs up the phone.

Jax looks utterly distraught. "-Why would you do this?"

Gangle shoves the phone back in her pocket.
"-It's called a manic episode, and you're gettin' three more seasons!" She laughs heartily. "Anyway. Jax, y/n, it's your job to set up the drink station, make new coffee and iced tea, and fill the ice cream machine. So, get to it!"

Gangle walks off, leaving you and Jax bewildered. Ragatha is still screaming in the deep fryer. "This is really weird."

You turn the deep fryer off and lean against it. "So...when she says punishment does she mean-"

"No- baby, you gotta stop reading those dark romance novels."

"I know..." you pout.

BREAKFAST

Zooble tries to flip and hamburger patty with a their spatula hand but it burns them instead. They sigh before pulling out an actual spatula.

Pomni stands at the register as loud bouncing footsteps make their way up to her.
A giant blue man walks up, talking in an unintelligible, rubbery speech.

"-Oh, uh—uh, what can I get for you today?"

Ragatha walks up to the register. "-Oh, hey! It's Orbsman."

Pomni gives her a confused look.

"Oh, he's from a previous adventure. Uh, before your time." She explains. "I'll keep this between you and me, but last time Orbsman was flirting with Y/n the WHOLE time. Jax hates him."

Pomni's eyes widen and slowly turned her eyes back to Orbsman.

Orbsman speaks again with his rubbery voice.

"-Okay, uh, a Number 57."

Jax walked up behind the drink station, carrying a large bag. He glanced and saw Orbsman standing at the register. He let out a low groan. "Oh, I HAAATE this guy."

You peeked around his shoulder to see who he was looking at. "Ohh, yeah! He was a real smooth talker, that one."

"Hey." Jax glared at you.

Gangle popped up infront of the two of you with her arms crossed. "You two- never gossip about customer while the customer is still here. We wait until after hours for that." She said then walked off.

You blinked, watching Gangle leave. Jax slammed the bag on the counter. He glanced over to the clock and scoffed.

You rubbed a hand over his shoulder. He tilted his head back to look at you, reaching up to take your hand and intertwine your fingers with his.

Back at the register with Pomni.

A customer walks up and rudely taps on the counter. "Excuse me. Yeah, little jester? I'd like to order the stupid burger. Last time I ordered it here, they forgot to add the sauce that makes you stupid. Don't forget the sauce."

Pomni hesitated. "-I-Is that a thing we have?"

The customer nods.
"Yes. I order it all the time."

They twitch. "I'm addicted."

"-okay. One stupid burger."

"-Heard you loud and clear." Ragatha calls out from the back. She picks up a purple sauce and attempts to pour some on the burger but she squeezes the bottle too hard. The cap flies off and it flings some of the sauce in her eye.

She rubs the sauce from her eye but the affects of the stupid sauce have already begun. The room grows darker around her and she seems gangle standing at the end of a long hallway. Gangle slowly turns to face her only she's deformed into a horrific smile.

It fades back out leaving Ragatha petrified. She guffaws softly and her entire body relaxes.
