The Amazing Digital Circus

Episode 4: 9 to 5

Jax walks over to Zooble, dragging you along with him. He hasn't let go of your hand for the past 30 minutes. He leans against the counter, watching as they continue to cook.

"-So, you're just, like, actually doing the job."

Zooble turns to him. "Yeah? I don't want Caine to punish me."

He scoffs and pulls you a little closer to his side. You look up at him and he stares down at you. "Caine's not gonna do anything malicious. It's..." he sniffs. "...not in his nature."

"Is it though..?" You ask him softly, not wanting to question him. His smile falters slightly.

Zooble hums. "The only thing holding Caine back is the fact that he likes us. I wouldn't push it." They go back to cooking on the grill.

Jax huffs and pushes himself off the counter.
"-That's rich coming from you."

He looks over to the clock. He groans and runs a hand over his face.

You squeeze his hand.

Gangle walks past the register and notices that no one was there to take orders.

"-What? Ragatha, where's Pomni?"

Ragatha was stacking burgers on top of the counter. (She's cooked chat)
"Huh?" She slurred.

"Oh, she's flirting with the gummy guy. 'Cause she'd rather be with the NPC than with us, or something." She falls back against the counter, knocking over the tower of burgers.

You walk into the kitchen mid-conversation, carrying empty food trays.

Gangle hums. "Well, that won't do." She stomps off to go find Pomni.

Ragatha turns to you, setting her head up on her hand. "-I wish someone would flirt with me."

You nod at her sullenly. "I don't have that problem."

Ragatha narrows her eyes at you. "Jax can't be flirting, that's bullying."

"And that's your opinion." You smile at her.

LUNCH

"All right, fellas, it's lunch rush. Get your game faces on!" Gangle announces to the group.

Jax was leant up against the wall. He looked up towards the clock again and his frown deepened.

You walked up to him with a smile. "Gangle said I can work drive through with you~."

He huffed, giving you a smirk. "Oh really? Hm..let's go 'work' then." He said, dragging you off to the register in the window.

He grabbed you by your hips, picking you up and setting you on top of the counter.
You giggled, wrapping your arms around his neck.

"Jax..we can't-"

Suddenly the Gloink Queen and all the Gloink spawn passed by the window, causing Jax to jump back.
