"Hotstuff, come on. It's time to get over your fear of bugs." Jax said as he held a grand daddy long-leg in the palm of his hand. You, on the other hand were way up high on a toy structure and as far away from the spider as you possibly could be."I mean, don't you think climbing all the way up there is a bit dramatic." He smirked, raising an eyebrow.
You trembled, clutching onto the roof of the structure. You stared wide-eyed as the grand daddy long-leg that was perched in Jax's hand. A shiver ran down your spine at the mere sight of arachnid's many legs wriggling ominously.
"N-No! It's huge!" You squeaked, voice quivering. You scooted further back, nearly loosing your balance.
"By the way...why the [bonk!] are you trying to cure my fear with a spider of all things?!"
Jax chuckled lowly, finding amusement in your reaction.
He tilted his head slightly, studying your antics. "Because it's the most effective method, duh." He replied nonchalantly, still holding the spider aloft. "Besides, it can't even bite you. Its mouth is too small."
You let out a nervous giggle, eyes darting between Jax's face and the spider. "Does it look like I care about how big its mouth is?!" You shouted, peeking your head over the edge of the toy structure.
Jax raised his hands in mock surrender, a sly grin spreading across his features. "Alright alright, I get it. You're terrified."
He carefully placed the spider on ground, and watched as it scurried away into the shadows.
"There, happy?"
You exhaled slowly, relief washing over you as the spider scurried away. You peered over the edge once more, making sure it was out of sight.
"Better." You mumbled, still clinging to the structure. "But I'm not getting down yet. ...that thing freaked me out so bad like..."
Jax rolled his eyes, letting out a heavy sigh.
"You're stuck, aren't you?"
You gave a shaky and forced laugh, trying to brush off your current predicament. "Hey, the view up here is kinda aesthetic, that's crazy..."
Jax raised an eyebrow, unimpressed by your attempt of humor. "Uh huh, sure. Look, if you want me to get something to help you climb down, just say so."
"I dont know what you're talking about."
Jax shrugged unfazed by your denial. "Suit yourself then." With that, he turned to leave, walking away whistling a casual tune.
Your smile faltered as Jax walked away.
"W-Wait! Jax, come back-"He paused mid step. "I thought so."
