Another Fairytale Story [REWRITTEN]

It was a quarter to seven when Bella woke up the next day, she was still in last night's dress though she had the sense to remove her makeup before crashing on the bed. Evie was coming through the door as Bella was getting up, she was dressed and ready to start her day, though the two coffee cups in her hand told her that her day had already begun.

"I thought you stayed the night, or had I dreamt that?" Asked Bella between yawns, she rubbed her eyes and stretched before reaching out for a coffee which Evie denied her.

"No coffee until you've brushed your teeth, showered, and made the bed." Bella stuck her tongue out like a child but went to the bathroom knowing she'd have to do it with or without coffee. "To answer your question, no you weren't dreaming, I did spend the night, as I so often do. I got up a little over an hour ago so I showered, got dressed, and got us some coffee. I also stopped by to wake Mal up and see if everything was good and ready to go." Evie placed the coffee on Bella's desk so she could make the bed since she had slept in it.  Soon enough they'd be splitting and sharing responsibilities like making the bed, washing the dishes, and taking the trash out.

"An' hows ev-rything lookin'?" Bella asked poking her head out, toothbrush in hand and toothpaste on the corner of her mouth. "Good, everything is good," Evie responded as she finished the bed, she was now organizing the pillows in no particular order to keep her hands busy. The shower turned on and Bella could be heard stepping in, she preferred cold showers so Evie never had to worry about using up the hot water nor would Bella mind when she took extra long hot showers- a good thing to know about the person you'll soon be living with.

"How do you feel?" Bella asked Evie who stepped into the bathroom to continue their conversation. "About today? Excited, nervous but excited overall. We've been doing great work with the Isle in making it an actual livable place for the kids still there, but it's good that we're finally able to bring some of the older teens. Especially since they've been so understanding about the younger kids being a priority, with the older ones we can work on helping them build a life here, see if they want to make up their education so by the time school starts in the fall, we can open spots for them in schools all across Auradon."

"We're still trying to get teachers who'd be willing to teach full-time. We've opened it up to teachers internationally, but it's tough because those who are unwilling to change their villainous ways pose a threat." Bella felt a slight guilt at her words, but it was the truth. Auradon wasn't heaven on earth, but its crime rates were nothing compared to the Isles.

"I know, but who knows, maybe once you've got your teaching degree you'll have your class full of vk's. You've already done so much; creating all the applications and manually going through them to plan out the best solution for the kids, making the calls, and organizing events, you've dedicated so much of your time to the Isle, and for that, I'm so grateful. You're too kind, never taking any credit for it when I recognize your handwriting on so much of the paperwork. No offense to Ben, he's great, but I wonder why the crown couldn't have gone to you? You're both so deserving of it, why not fight to the death for it? Kidding of course, but you deserve a chance too, I know you two are a team but you deserve recognition too."

Bella had tried to stop thinking about the 'what ifs', that ship had sailed and there was no going back. Maybe it was selfish, Bella thought, wanting to leave Auradon for good when they still had so much work to do on the Isle. So what if there seemed to be a hate boner for her, it didn't compare to what the vk's have and are going through, she had to stop thinking about herself, especially today of all days.

The conversation stopped when Evie's phone went off from notifications from Mal.

"Mal said she burnt herself with the curler so I should probably rush over to prevent any more accidents before we have to leave."
