Chapter 30 - Change My Mind

*Skye's P.O.V.*

Niall and I have been hanging out a lot over winter break and we've been growing very close and Niall hasn't broken his promise so far.

Today is the last day of winter break and I'm walking to McDonald's to meet up with him.

"Hey Nialler" I greeted when I saw him.

"Hey! Um, did you walk all the way here? 'Cause I could've picked you up"

"No, I just walked from the bus stop up the street" I told him, pointing in the direction of the bus stop.

"Oh, okay" he said, slightly nervous. We walked into McDonald's and ordered our food before sitting in a booth and eating our food.

"You alright? You seem nervous" I asked him.

"Uh yeah, I'm fine" he stated awkwardly before he continued to eat.

"Are you sure? 'Cause you don't seem fine"

"Yeah, it's just... We've been hanging out a lot lately and I was wondering, do you-um-uh..."

"Spit it out Niall"

"Do you wanna be my girlfriend? You know, 'cause we've been hanging out a lot lately and-"

"You don't have to explain yourself Niall. Of course I'll be your girlfriend" I told him.

"Awesome" he replied. We smiled at each other, eating our lunch. "What do you wanna do today?"

"I don't know, I haven't really thought about it. What do you wanna do?"

"Let's just do a little bit of everything" he suggested.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, we can go to the mall, the movies"

"And we can see Minions!" I stated excitedly.

"Why am I not surprised that you chose a kid's movie?" He chuckled.

"Alright, let's go crazy!" I said.

"Hold on, I gotta pee" he said, getting up.

I pulled my phone out and decided to text Monique.

S: Niall's got a new girlfriend.

M: WHAT?! Who??

S: Me😉

M: Since when?!

S: A couple minutes ago.

M: And you didn't text me sooner?!

S: He just got up to pee!

M: I thought he gave up on love after Alicia.

S: I thought so too, but I guess he decided to give it a shot. I'm not complaining.

M: Me neither, I'm happy for you guys.

"You ready to go?" Niall asked as he appeared next to me.

"Yeah, one sec" I told him.

S: I gotta go, Niall and I are gonna go hang out. Talk to you later!

M: Okay, bye!

"Where to first, Irish boy?"

It was 7:00 p.m. and after a long day Niall and I decided to go to the movies.

"What do you want to see babe?"

I grabbed his arm, gesturing towards the poster for Minions.

"Are you sure you don't wanna see that one?" He smirked, pointing towards a scary movie.

I shook my head no in response. He laughed before getting us two tickets to Minions.

"Yay!" I cheered as we entered the theatre and got in line for snacks.

"Relax babe, it's just a movie"

"I know, but I'm excited"

"You're such a dork" he said, wrapping his arm around me, pulling me to him.

After a few minutes, we finally were at the front of the line.

"What do you want babe?" Niall asked me. I ordered a Coke and some Reese's Pieces and Niall also ordered a Coke along with some Twizzlers, M&M's and a giant bucket of buttered popcorn.

"Hungry?" I joked.

"Always"

"Why didn't we just sneak candy in here? It's much cheaper at the store than here" I asked as we took our seats at the back.

"Don't worry about it babe"

"Are you really going to eat all of that?"

"No, I got it for us to share"

"You want to share food? Are you feeling okay?" I asked, feeling his forehead with the back of my hand.

"Stop it, I'm fine" he laughed, swatting my hand away.

A few minutes later, the movie started and we started eating our candy and popcorn.

"Which one is that?" Niall asked.

"That's Kevin" I whispered.

"Kevin? I thought that was Bob"

"No, Bob is the short one"

"Then who is the one with only one eye?"

"That's Stuart. Pay attention"

"I am! They all look the same"

"No, they don't you dork" I told him, eating the last Twizzler.

About a minute later, we finished off all of the snacks.

"Shit" I whispered.

"What's wrong?" Niall whispered back.

"I promised Monique we'd see this movie together"

"Then we won't watch it"

"What? You already bought the tickets"

"So? This movie is confusing"

"What is so confusing about a children's movie?"

"I keep mixing up the characters" he answered, making me laugh.

"What do you want to do then?" I asked.

"I've got something in mind" he smirked, pulling me towards him.

We started making out, which is how we spent the rest of the movie before Niall drove me home.

"I had a great time today" I told him after he walked me to my door.

"Me too" he replied.

"I'll see you tomorrow"

"See ya tomorrow" he said.

I leaned forward, trying to pull him in for a hug. He pushed my arms away before leaning in and kissing me softly.

"See ya tomorrow" he repeated before walking to his car. I went inside the apartment, going to my room and getting ready for bed.
