Chapter 38 - All Signs Point To Lauderdale

*Skye's P.O.V.*

I sat down at the lunch table, joining the others.

"Hey babe" Niall greeted me, wrapping his arm around me and kissing my forehead.

"Hey Nialler" I replied.

"You guys are on good terms" Monique commented.

"Why wouldn't they be?" Percy asked.

"They were having an argument recently"

"Do you tell me anything?!" Percy asked Niall.

"Not really. Why would I? You don't tell me anything" Niall replied.

"If I had a girlfriend, I would tell you if we had as argument"

"Girlfriend?"

"Yes, why?"

"I thought you were gay" Niall confessed.

"Me too" Monique said.

"Same" I added.

"Why would you think that?"

"Your mannerisms, you love helping your cousin pick out clothes, your love of Broadway" Monique and I listed.

"What about you wouldn't make us think you were gay?" Niall asked.

"Those are all stereotypes, and terrible ones at that. Loving those things doesn't make me gay"

"Maybe not, but you fooled us" Niall told him.

"I can't believe you guys thought I was gay!"

We ate our food in an awkward silence for a while before Monique changed the subject.

"So... Prom's coming up. I'm going with Vic"

"Skye and I are going" Niall told her.

"I don't have any ideas for a date, but I think I'm gonna go" Percy told us.

"I'll share Niall with you" I joked.

"Very funny" Percy said in a mocking voice.

Niall chuckled at my joke when we heard Monique's phone vibrate.

"My mom just text me. She says I got some letters in the mail from colleges"

"Any big ones?" I asked.

"She says most of them are"

"That's great! Do you have an idea of where you wanna go to college?"

"I'm thinking of the west coast. Vic's gonna go to school on the west coast and we decided we're gonna go to the same college"

"I haven't decided where I'm going to college yet. I've applied for a lot of colleges around the country" I told her.

"Same, I even applied for a few back home in Ireland" Niall said.

"I'm going to college in Pennsylvania. I've always wanted to go there and I got my acceptance letter last week" Percy told us.

"Did you guys just see that?" Monique asked us.

"What?"

"Nathan and Andre aren't sitting with Lyndsey and Alicia"

"Nathan and Alicia broke up. He was cheating on her. Knowing Alicia, she probably made Lyndsey dump Andre" Niall replied.

"How do you know that?" I asked him.

"She told me"

"When?"

"After me mum's wedding"

"Where did you see her?"

"The convenience store" he said casually.

"What happened?"

"She was hitting on me and I asked her where Nathan was and she said they broke up because he cheated. I laughed and said it was karma and that I don't feel bad for her before leaving"

"That's it?"

"Pretty much" he replied.

"What do you mean 'pretty much'?"

"That's what happened. I just left out the bits where I got gas for my car, some snacks for me and I paid the cashier" he explained.

"Oh, okay" I said before I continued to eat.

"Why?"

"What do you mean why?"

"Why does it matter?"

"Because I don't trust Alicia. I think she's a slut and she's going to try to win you back any chance she gets now that she and Nathan broke up" I confessed.

"Babe, you've got nothing to worry about. Just forget about her, okay?" He said, kissing the top of my head before walking to his next class.

"I sure hope I have nothing to worry about"
