Chapter 32 - Drag Me Down

*Skye's P.O.V.*

For the past few weeks, people have been bothering Niall and I, especially Niall, because of the issue with Ryder Romano. At parties they bother us constantly, throw drinks at me and even throw us out. Some people even come to the pub when I'm working to spill drinks and food on me or change their order multiple times to make me look bad.

A lot of kids at school liked Ryder and even though he was convicted, they like to believe he is innocent. They also think that I like to accuse people of terrible things so their parents will pay me to keep their kids out of jail, even though the Romano's offered to pay me to keep quiet, but I didn't accept.

I don't mind all of the cruel remarks, I'm actually used to them. I'm just worried about Niall. He's not used to all of this negative attention. I'm afraid he'll get sick of it and break up with me, or worse, go back to Alicia.

Alicia has been super jealous ever since she found out about Niall and I. She's been ruder than usual and she's constantly glaring at us. Everyday at lunch she and Nathan sit across from Lindsey and Andre and I see her tuning out Nathan's conversation and glaring at us instead.

I know she's jealous, I just hope Niall doesn't decide he wants her back.

Today is Saturday and Niall is picking me up. I don't know where he is taking me, but he should be here any minute.

Just as I finished getting ready, there was a knock at the door. I opened the door to see Niall standing there.

"Hey, I'll be right back, I've gotta grab my purse" I told him, kissing him on the cheek. I went to my room and grabbed my purse before returning. "I'm ready now, let's go" I said, starting to leave when Niall blocked the doorway.

"We're not leaving till you give me a real kiss" he said. I stood on my tiptoes trying to reach him, but he's too tall.

"You're gonna have to shrink a bit" I told him. He bent down slightly, wrapping his arms around my waist, before kissing me.

"We should probably get going" Niall said after we pulled away.

"Okay, where are we going?" I asked as we walked down the stairs of the apartment complex to his car.

"My mum's wanted to meet ya since I drove you home back in September. So I promised her we would have dinner at her place tonight"

"She's met me before. I always take her order at the pub"

"Yes, but she wants to meet you and see what you're actually like when you're not working" he explained, opening the passenger door for me before climbing in the drivers side.

"Can I ask you something?" I asked him.

"Of course"

"Does the way everyone's been treating us bother you?"

"Does it look like it bothers me?" He replied, shooting me a bored look before his eyes returned to the road.

"Well I was just wondering 'cause I didn't want them to- you know- um-"

"Scare me off?" He finished.

"Yeah, scare you off"

"Don't worry about it babe. I couldn't care less about what they think"

"Yeah, they're all a bunch of dingles"

"Dingles? What the hell is that?" He laughed.

"Oh, I forgot I haven't showed you that new show We Bare Bears. It's kind of my latest obsession"

"What is it with you and children's cartoons?"

"They're so good! A lot better than shows than some of the shows you watch" I teased.

"Hey!" He exclaimed, turning into a driveway.

"Whoa, this is a nice house!"

"It's me mum's" he replied, parking the car.
