Chapter 40 - The Boy Who Could Fly

*Skye's P.O.V.*

"What the hell?!" I said as I entered his doorway.

Alicia and Niall were both shirtless making out on his bed.

"Skye, I can explain!" He called, following me as I started to leave. I ignored him, walking towards the stairs. "Just give me a chonce to explain!"

"What the hell is a chonce?" I asked.

"You know, a chonce!"

"I think you mean chance" I corrected.

"That's what I said, a chonce"

"Whatever, I don't need to give you a 'chonce'. It's pretty obvious what you two were doing. I thought you were over her"

"There's just something about her. I love her. I love you too, but no matter how hard I try, I can't stop thinking about her" he told me. That's the first time Niall has ever told me he loves me. Even though I feel the same way, I'm not saying anything. I just want to get away from him. I need to get away from him before I say something really stupid.

"Why didn't you just say that instead of wasting my time?"

"I don't think this was a waste of time. Besides, she just showed up a few minutes ago"

"How'd she get in? Your dad wouldn't let you have sex with her in his house if he knew"

"We weren't having sex"

"You were about to"

"She crawled in through the window. We used to do that when we were dating"

"I didn't really need to know about your sex life, but thank you" I said sarcastically.

"Not just for sex, we would sneak out to go to parties or just hang out"

"Well, you can enjoy all of those things with her again, because we're done"

"I understand" he said, looking at the floor sadly. "I'm sorry" he continued, trying to pull me in for a hug.

Still pissed, I pushed him away, making my way down the stairs.

I walked out of his house and down to the bus stop. While on the bus, I texted Monique.

S: We need to talk. Call me ASAP.

I walked home, still enraged, and ran up the stairs to the apartment, and into my room.

I need to get away from here. Away from all of the bullshit, all of the lies and all of the people.

I sorted through all of my college acceptance letters, trying to figure out which one would be far enough away.

Washington State University. WSU. Sounds perfect.
