Belladonna sighs with pleasure as a seamstress needle pricks her for the hundredth time. Her mother and her grandmama seeing her betrothal ball dress to fit her figure before school.

"Last one. Make it count." Morticia says with joy as both her and grandmama stab Bella one final time as hard as they can. Her blood soaking into the dress, which is actually part of the tradition. It helps waft the Addams scent to attract potential suitors.

"You look beautiful." Grandmama praises as she slowly circles Belladonna who smiles happily as the stings in her body slowly fade so does her smile.

"I'll possibly be engaged in less than a month." Belladonna says while running a hand down the bodice as she stares into a mirror at her reflection.

She looked stunning as the black gown hugged her figure tightly, the top a black lace corset and the bottom having a slit that goes all the way up to her hip.

"If you are-..... having second thoughts daughter it is quite alright we could still-" her mother begins to say in a monotone voice but her eyes show the passion behind her words.

She would cancel the ball right now if that's what her daughter wanted. But belladonna shakes her head forcing a smile so big it had to hurt.

"No. I want this. I need this." She corrects as her mother slowly nods.

"She doesn't have a choice do you know how many spiders I have been catching around town even with my brittle bones. We need them to make the cobweb statue of you for the ball and they've been working real hard." Grandmama tsks making Bella smile fondly at the older woman's work.

Most people have ice sculptures. Addams had spider weaved statues instead.

"I better get going. I have an intuition something big is happening today." Belladonna admits and her mother and grandmama look excited because when an Addams feels something big coming it's usually a pleasantly beautiful disaster approaching.

How right the feeling was.
