CHAPTER 50

JAIDEN'S POV

I've been keeping my eyes on her ever since she stepped inside this bar, my footsteps silently following her from the moment she walked past the heavy glass doors. There was something about her presence that naturally draws everyone's attention, and tonight was definitely no different. Almost every man in this place has been glancing her way.

I was just there blocking anyone who dared to walk near her desk or try to make a move

She is mine, and mine alone and she will remain mine until my last breath. Walang sinuman ang pwedeng lumapit, walang sinuman ang pwedeng tumingin sa kanya nang masyadong matagal, and certainly, no one else deserves to hold her attention the way I do. I will protect her, guard her, and keep her all to myself no matter what price I have to pay or what kind of darkness I need to face along the way.

"Kuya, one more glass please!" She yelled at the bartender, raising her empty glass high into the air, her cheeks flushed bright pink while her beautiful eyes were already clouded and hazy, clearly showing how much alcohol she has consumed in just a short amount of time.

"Enough of that, you're drunk already," I told her gently and softly, she looks absolutely stunning and perfect, kahit na magulo na ang buhok niya at kitang-kitang hindi na matino ang paningin at kilos niya dahil sa alak. No matter how messy her hair is or how unsteady she stands, to me, she is still the prettiest woman I have ever laid my eyes on in my entire life.

"Who the hell are you to tell me what to do?!" A small, amused smile automatically formed on my lips watching her fiery reaction. I know her character very well, and I know for a fact that she rarely drinks alcohol, and even when she decides to do so, she gets drunk easily and always acts exactly like this - loud, feisty, straightforward, and overly emotional.

You really haven't changed at all, my love. You are still the exact same girl I fell madly and deeply in love with years ago, the same girl who isn't afraid to speak her mind or show exactly what she feels no matter who she is talking to. And every time I see you or hear your voice, I fall in love with you all over again even harder than before, kahit na masakit para sa akin na makita kang ganito dahil ako din naman ang may kasalanan ng lahat. Everything you are going through, all the pain you are feeling, every heartbreak and confusion inside your heart... I am the main cause and reason behind all of these, and I will carry this heavy guilt and regret for the rest of my life.

"Your future husband," I said flatly and calmly.

She let out a hollow and bitter laugh, raising her trembling hand and poking her index finger harshly right onto my chest, her eyes full of mixed emotions - confusion, pain, and anger all written clearly across her beautiful face. "Future husband my ass! Kung talagang gusto mong maging asawa 'ko, you should've asked me first before deciding things on your own! I didn't even know you existed a minute ago, and now you're spouting nonsense like we're some kind of couple!"

If only you knew everything, Angela... If you knew the whole story, all the sacrifices I had to make, all the painful experiences and sleepless nights I went through, and all the valid reasons why I had to leave you. Ginawa ko ang lahat ng ito not because I wanted to control your life or force my will on you, but simply because my top priority is always your safety and well-being. I did all of this just to protect you and keep you away from all the darkness, enemies, and threats attached to my world and my family name. I'd rather have you hate me and treat me like the worst person in your life while you are safe and alive, than have you love me freely and happily only to put your life at risk or endanger your future. Everything I have done, every choice I made, and every step I took... was all for you, love. Every single thing was done purely for your own good and safety, even if it costs me my own happiness and peace of mind.
