ANGELA'S POV
"Daddy!" I heard my daughter call out softly - I could barely keep my eyes open yet, but I knew that sweet little voice anywhere.
"Baby, don't be too loud now ha. Your Mommy's still asleep, bakit ka kasi gising ng maaga?" mahinang sabi ni Jaiden, sobrang banayad ng tono niya. Naramdaman ko yung kama na yumuko sandali sa tabi ko, at alam kong pumwesto na dun si Althea, ganun na talaga siya kapag nagigising ng maaga.
"Opo Daddy, hahina-hinain ko na po boses ko ngayon," Althea promised, and I couldn't help but smile even with my eyes closed. This kid really knows how to be sweet when she wants to.
A small pair of arms wrapped around my waist, warm and tiny against my skin. I pulled her closer and finally opened my eyes to see her big brown orbs staring up at me, grinning from ear to ear.
Sabay halik niya sa pisngi ko, at sigurado akong natunaw na yung puso ko dun sa sandaling yun. Hinalikan ko rin ang pisngi ng anak ko.
"Ang sweet-sweet naman talaga ng baby girl ko," sabi ko sa kanya, inayos ko pa yung buhok niyang nakaharang sa noo. Where did I even get such a precious little human being?
"Good morning, love," Jaiden said from my left - I'd almost forgotten he was there too, leaning against the headboard with that lazy smile of his that still gets me after all this time.
"Good morning din sayo," I replied, medyo nahihiya pa rin kahit na matagal na kami magkasama.
"Mommy, bakit si Daddy walang kiss?" Althea suddenly piped up, and my eyes went wide as saucers. Anong sinasabi nitong bata na to?
"Bakit naman kailangang halikan ko si Daddy, baby?" Tanong ko sa kanya, sinusubukang magmukhang normal kahit ramdam kong umiinit na yung mga pisngi ko.
"Ha? What not, Mommy?" She looked confused, tilting her head to the side like a little puppy. Jaiden let out a low chuckle beside us, and I shot him a quick glare - alam niya naman kasing nahihiya ako pag may bata.
"Hindi siguro sa noo lang gusto ng Mommy mo e," Jaiden teased, then leaned over and pressed a soft kiss on my forehead. I swear I turned as red as a tomato right then and there - halata na ba talaga na gusto ko ng more than that?
"Eh saan po gusto ni Mommy?" Althea asked, looking back and forth between us like she was watching her favorite cartoon show.
"Wala na, wala! Tara na, mag-ayos na tayo!" I said quickly, sitting up straight and swinging my legs over the side of the bed. Teka lang naman - nasa hospital pala ako! Paano ko nakalimutan yun?
Right. Ngayon na nga pala yung araw na uuwi na kami sa bahay.
"Mommy, are we really really going home now?" Althea asked again, bouncing up and down on the bed in excitement.
"Yes na yes, baby! Haven't you been getting bored staying here?" I asked, starting to fold the blanket we'd been using.
"Super bored po Mommy! And... will Daddy stay with us at home na po?" She looked up at Jaiden with those hopeful eyes of hers, and I found myself staring at him too - he hasn't been able to stay long because of work.
"Yes, baby girl. Magsasama-sama na tayo," Jaiden answered, his gaze meeting mine for a split second before he looked away.
"Mommy, gusto ko po buhatin ako ni Daddy ngayon," Althea said.
"Ayaw mo na ba sa akin?" I pretended to pout, pero deep inside alam kong lagi na siyang Daddy's girl ngayon.
"Gusto ko po kayo Mommy, pero ngayon lang po si Daddy muna," she said, making her own little pout that was way too cute to say no to.
