Adam sat on the edge of his unmade bed, surrounded by a chaotic spread of textbooks and notes, all essential for his upcoming classics class. He frowned in concentration, tapping a pencil against his lip as he stared blankly at a passage that seemed to blur before his eyes. The musty scent of old paper mingled with the faint aroma of coffee from the cup perched precariously on his bedside table, serving as his only fuel during the long study session.

The quiet of the dorm room was suddenly interrupted by a gentle knock on the door, a sound that felt out of place in the otherwise familiar routine of his university life. His roommate, Jake, was notorious for his lack of regard for personal space, often bursting through the door with little thought, even if he had lost his keys for the hundredth time. Curiosity piqued, Adam's eyebrows knitted together as he put down his pencil and glanced toward the door, wondering who could be knocking so politely. "Who is it?" Adam asked,

"Hello? Anybody home?" Y/n asked,

Y/n a few doors down, was a cute little literature major and Adam had quite the crush on her.

Adam almost dropped his books when he heard her voice. He quickly jumped up off his bed and made sure he looked presentable in the mirror before opening the door and leaning casually on the frame. "Oh! Hey-" He froze up when he saw her,

Y/n was very normally in thick wollen tights, boots, long plaid skirts, blouses and jumpers. Very dark academia kinda vibe. But today... Y/n had her hair in two long plaits and wore a pair of small canvas sneakers, a pair of black denim shorts, and a green lace bralette.

"hi." She smiled,

Adam gulped, struggling to keep his eyes on her face rather than letting them wander. He'd never seen Y/n in this kind of outfit before, and it certainly had an effect on him. "I...uh...um..." he stumbled over his words before finally getting himself together. "You look...uh...you look nice," he mumbled

"aww thank you." She smiled, "Is Jake around he asked for the notes from Tuesday."

Adam shook his head.

"Nah, he uhh he's... I have no idea actually. Just me." He said, rubbing the back of his neck.

"That's okay, you don't mind I stay with you while I wait do you, Adam?"

Adam's heart skipped a beat. He quickly composed himself. "Of course, I don't mind. Make yourself comfortable."

She smiled heading into his room.

Adam rushed in behind her and pretty much tossed everything on his bed onto his desk,

"I feel like I've barely seen you lately."

"Yeah, I guess I've been pretty busy lately. Sorry if I've been a little MIA. How have you been?"

"That's okay, you've been busy." She smiled "I'm okay dealing with classes." She shrugged

Adam nodded, watching her closely. Despite their close proximity, he managed to keep his eyes on her face, though occasionally they darted down to admire her outfit again. He cleared his throat and looked back up at her. "So, uh...I take it you've been doing some shopping lately."

"mhm, Abigail and I went shopping. We went on a little girls trip"

Ahh that made sense, her roommate Abby was a massive party girl who Adam had never seen in more than a crop top in the whole three years he'd known the girl. Very Obviously this was an Abby outfit suggestion. "Oh, so Abby was there too? Sounds like fun. You buy that outfit on your trip?"

"I did." She smiled, "I like it,"

Adam couldn't help but let his eyes linger a bit on her outfit, his mind wandering to less-than-innocent thoughts. He quickly shook his head and looked away "Y-yeah. It...it looks really good on you." he mumbled, trying not to sound as flustered as he felt.
