Season 4. Episode 4.
Metamorphosis.
Dean was asleep in bed at the motel, then he gasped and woke up from his 'dream'. His dream where he had seen everything that had gone on in the past with his mother, father and... Azazel. Castiel stood near the foot of the bed in silence.
Dean tiredly sat up, not facing him, but talking to the angel who stood before him, "I couldn't stop any of it. She still made the deal. She still died in the nursery, didn't she?"
"Don't be too hard on yourself. You couldn't have stopped it." Castiel stoically responded, not looking at Dean until he stood up and approached him confusedly, "Destiny can't be changed, Dean. All roads lead to the same destination"
"Then why'd you send me back?"
"For the truth. Now you know everything we do."
"What the hell are you talking about?"
Castiel silently looked at the other bed, which hadn't been slept in by Sam. Dean followed the angel's gaze, then watched how Castiel stared outside, where Sierra's bike was previously parked.
"Where's Sam?" Dean demanded, then his shoulders tensing up, "Where's Sierra?"
"We know what Azazel did to your brother and... your demon associate." Castiel replied, choosing his words to describe Sierra carefully. "What we don't know is why – what his endgame is. He went to great lengths to cover that up."
"Where's Sam and Sierra?"
"You'll find Sam at 425 Waterman." Castiel informed nonchalantly, watching Dean grab his keys and jacket. "Then you'll find Sierra 5 miles south of here in the woods. Abandoned cabin."
Dean didn't respond whilst he quickly grabbed all his things together, but Castiel hadn't finished talking, his voice going dark, "You brother is headed down a dangerous road, Dean, and we're not sure where it leads. So stop it. Or we will. And as for the Hellhound-"
"Don't you touch her." Dean lowly spat, narrowing his eyes at the angel. "She has done nothing but help us. She's not like the rest."
Castiel tilted his head, his mind was still confused as to why the hunter was infatuated with a demon, "Yet, she was still driven by her natural instincts to send you to Hell once your time was up. Is that not true?"
"It wasn't her. It was Lilith." Dean grumbled under his breath, not breaking eye contact with him, "Leave her alone. You and your angel buddies."
The angel lifted his chin up and puffed his chest, "If the Hellhound falls too far out of line, we will take necessary precautions, Dean. The only reason she is still alive is because of me. And I'm sure you would prefer to keep it that way."
Dean harshly swallowed, knowing if he said the wrong thing, Castiel could easily send Sierra back down to the pit. "Yes."
"Good. Now go."

Later...
After Dean found Sam, he raced in his Impala down the street and to the woods where the angel said Sierra would be. Apparently, Sam had been working with Ruby under everyone's noses, learning to control his power. Just like Sierra had been with Anthony, which is what Dean was also going to find out.
