Their first stop on their little adventure was in the middle of the town. There was a market place, and it had a fountain in the middle. One of those who was completely filled with coins from people wishing for stuff. Both Piper and Calum had their eyes on it as they stopped the motorbike getting off.
"A wishing fountain." Piper grinned sticking her hands into her pockets searching for some coins that might have been left behind. After going through all the four pockets she sighed looking over at Calum awkwardly, just as she did she felt a tiny metal plate hit her hand. Her gaze went from Calum to the coin that had just been dropped on her hand.
A small smile came to her lips looking back up at Calum, she saw him flick another coin between two of his fingers. "Wish for anything." He said. He was grinning down at her now, his hair now falling into his eyes after being completely messed up by the motorbike ride. Piper laughed seeing it, and before she could think through what she were doing she put the coin in her left hand and used her right hand to run through his hair styling it back to place.
He was just looking at her curiously with the same grin on his face. At first Calum didn't get what she was doing, but then he realized that his hair was probably messed up from the bike ride, so she was fixing it up. He honestly liked the way she ran her fingers through his hair and he couldn't help thinking that he didn't want her to stop messing with it.
Suddenly she stopped realizing what she was doing. A blush crept up her cheeks turning them a slight pink, making her eyes widen slightly. She couldn't even remember the last time her cheeks had turned red like that. The last time she had blushed was a distant memory to her.
A smile came to Calum's face seeing it, as he hadn't seen her blush before and he couldn't help but find it really cute. Her attitude earlier had made it seem impossible for him that she even could, he had been surprised the first time that she giggled. Then again he had been doing almost that only a few minutes ago. While hanging onto her at the back of the motorbike. They weren't even riding with helmets, but he wasn't worried about it.
It was a small town with small bad roads, the fastest they could go on them safely was 50 miles per hour, and they hadn't yet if Calum wasn't completely wrong. The market place in front of them was almost empty, he saw a few people sit outside a cafe across from him and Piper. A couple of people walked by or through it here and there as well.
Piper suddenly took his hand, at least it felt sudden for him, and begun pulling him towards the fountain. For the first time he thought about how small she actually looked. She wasn't that small in height, but small compared to him as he was a pretty tall guy. He found it adorable that she was small, it made him feel like he could just scoop her up in his arms and carry her whenever he wanted to. It also made her perfect to cuddle with, as he could practically wrap his entire self around her. Which he thought was adorable.
Her long ponytail was flying behind her as she practically ran for the fountain and when she stopped it swung over her shoulder from the speed. Calum halted behind her having to let go of her left hand with his as both of them now held a coin in their right ones.
Piper closed her fingers around the coin for a minute shutting her eyelids closed as well. Thinking of her wish. She knew what it was, it had been obvious to her the moment she saw the fountain in the middle of the market place. Then she opened her eyes again and threw the coin into the fountain. It landed with a soft splash getting one drop of water on her black pair of jeans. That made her smile slightly at the light, cold touch.
She stepped aside letting Calum forward. He threw the coin in the fountain without thinking through his wish. Him too knew what it was, but he wasn't sure why he wanted to. It was just something he really wished to do, but he knew the moment wasn't right, the time wasn't right and maybe it would never be. He wasn't staying with Piper that long, and he needed her for the wish to be fulfilled.
