The bus was filled with noise from people talking. The sleeping area was where all the voices came from, chatting about whatever really. Though probably mostly Calum's wild adventure earlier that day. The boys found it incredibly amazing that their friend had just disappeared of like that. Especially with a girl, he had never done anything like it.
While out in the other part of the bus it was more silent. Piper was there alone, laying on her stomach in the couch with a book in front of her, reading. It was a thing she usually enjoyed so she had decided to do so before going to bed. It had been hard getting a book out of those four boys, but she had been lucky to find out that the bus driver had one to borrow her.
It was quite an interesting book actually, even though she hadn't read very far yet. She enjoyed the almost silence she had laying there flipping through the pages while fighting to keep her eyes open. Finally she decided that she had had enough and put the book away. Then she opened the curtains between the sleeping area and where she was. The boys were discussing a way to get the bus fixed so they could continue their tour.
Calum and Ashton were sitting on Calum's bed, whilst Luke and Michael was sitting across from them on Michael's bed. Leaving Luke and Ashton's beds open. Piper walked in between the boys dumping down on Luke's bed as she knew she wouldn't get to sleep as long as they were talking. Luke threw her a glance, but didn't seem bothered by the place she chose to relax in.
She lied there leaning on her elbow with her head in her hand listening to the boys in front of her talk. Actually she didn't really listen, she was keeping her eyes on Calum noticing the way he laughed or how his mouth moved when he spoke. She liked the way his face could change into so many different expressions and make it look so many ways. She also liked how all the four boys played around with each other and that Ashton took out his phone filming a video of all of them talking to their fans telling what had happened. They were so sweet but also hilarious at the same time, she was beginning to realize why their fans liked them. They acted the same crazy way for them than for each other. They were being themselves and she thought that was incredible as so many people changed when they got famous.
Piper also noticed one other thing about Calum that she hadn't earlier. She noticed that one of the tattoos on his arms said 'Mali Koa' on it. That got her wondering if it was a name or if it meant something. After studying it a little more she realized it was a name because both parts begun with capitals. Who was she? Piper wanted to know, both in curious ness and also because it got her insides knotting together thinking that Calum could eventually have a girlfriend and had been lying to her. Because what other person's name would someone tattoo on themselves?
She didn't say anything about it, but her gaze kept moving back to it. Staring at the name, questions raging through her brain. Who was she? Why had Calum tattooed her name on himself? If she was his girlfriend, why was he then not telling Piper about it. That was when Piper realized that he had a full right to not do that, she didn't even know his last name. She couldn't be expecting him to have told about his girlfriend before his last name.
That again made her feel bad, she didn't belong here with the boys, even if Calum had been hanging out with her all day she knew nothing about him, and here she was accusing him of something that wasn't even of her business. Piper felt embarassed for even thinking like that, the only thing that wondered her was why he had said he had never been in love before if he had. That was the only thing that made no sense to her.
As these thoughts flew through her mind she looked away from him, the tears had started pressing on behind her eyes. She refused to let them out, she hated crying, and she had been doing it so much all her life. She was tired of it now, it never made anything better for her. No matter how many times she cried, there would always come new reasons for her to do so. But when she smiled, there didn't come new reasons when she stopped.
