Luke found Piper in the bathroom of the small restaurant him and the boys had found in town as they went to get breakfast that day. She was locked into one of the stall's crying and he had heard her from outside the bathroom even and had then proceeded to sneak inside to talk to her, even though he hadn't known until he got inside who she was.
He slowly walked into the bathroom hoping that no one else would come in at this moment. Even though he doubted so, there was almost no one else out in the restaurant except two of his friends and they weren't women the last time he checked.
"Anyone in there?" He questioned silently, even though the answer to his question was pretty obvious. He didn't know what else to say to whomever was behind the stall door. There were some muffled sounds inside as the crying stopped. Then he heard a click of the lock and the door swung open.
He stared with surprise on the person that was inside. Long dark hair was falling in her face, with those wavy ends. She was wearing a shirt he recognized as one of his friend's and the same black jeans she had been wearing two nights before when she bursted panting into his dressing room.
"Piper?!" He bursted out in surprise and she looked up to see him, surprise over her face as well. Her brown eyes were wide, tears still here and there falling out of them. Filling up her tear stained cheeks with even more tears, dripping all over her clothing as well. For a moment Luke swore he saw Calum, because heck the way the girl in front of him was sitting and looking reminded him way too much.
"Luke?" She said back her eyes still slightly wide, and then she surprised him by beginning to laugh. Piper couldn't help but find it so funny that she had hidden there in the girls bathroom a place where men were totally not allowed, and still one of his friends had found her. She also laughed at the fact that he had willingly entered the girls bathroom.
"Why are you in the girls bathroom?" She questioned, wiping her cheeks dry of tears that were both from laughing and crying now. The boy in front of her blushed slightly, his cheeks turning a light pink as he realized he was somewhere he wasn't really supposed to be. He scratched the back of his head awkwardly as he spoke.
"Umm... I just heard someone crying, and I wanted to help- uh I didn't know it was you." He spoke with a nervous chuckle. Feeling a little misplaced at the moment, which he absolutely was. "I mean, if I had I would have totally never walked inside." He joked in a chirpy tone, trying to change the awkward tension between them. Piper couldn't help but let out another laugh at that.
Then she smiled slightly up at him. "That's really sweet of you actually." She told him, obviously referring to the first thing he had said. He just smiled slightly not really thinking that it was so special himself. He just didn't like seeing (or hearing) people cry at all. It always made him feel really bad, when others were hurt.
"I guess." He spoke and then a playful smile came onto his face. "If you think me wanting to ignore you is sweet, then sure." He chuckled, making another joke. Piper just smiled slightly, feeling happy that this guy could make her laugh and smile while feeling the way she did. He was really just distracting her from the problems she was in, and the confusion that her head was filled with. It still made her feel better to be able to laugh for a little while, even after she had just been crying.
As that thought returned to her head she gave a sigh, her face turning back into a frown letting herself back down on the toilet seat. She ran a hand through her now pretty messy hair, in frustration trying to keep back the tears that was pressing on behind her eyes wanting to come out.
At first Luke stood there not knowing what to do, then as her shoulders started shaking again and tears begun falling down her cheeks he pulled off his outer layer of clothing. He took the red flannel shirt and put it around her shoulders before pushing her slightly to the side making room for him as well on the toilet seat beside her.
