Maxine's P.O.V.

I was sitting with Draco's group on the train since I hadn't been sitting with them last year or the year before that. "I never thought you'd sit with us. You're usually always with your brother, Maxine." Blaise breaks the silence as I am reading a book and Prince lying on my lap. "I thought I'd change things up." "Have you had a change of heart finally Maxine?" Draco says as I shake my head. "Hmm not sure," I said being careful with my words. I didn't want to upset or become enemies with the Slytherin, it was much more beneficial for me to make them believe I preferred them. Using them can be very advantageous, especially for Draco. They kept speaking among themselves as I focused on the book I had, a romance book as I smiled at some parts of the book.

I had reunited with Harry and the rest of the group late as I saw a carriage flying in the sky with horses dragging it. We were all in awe as a ship submerged in the ocean. Every student went to the Great Hall where like any other year Dumbledore sorted the new students.

"Well, now we're all settled in and sorted, I'd like to make an announcement. This castle will not only be your home this year but home to some very special guests as well. You see, Hogwarts has been chosen—" Dumbledore is cut off by Filch as they whisper amongst themselves. As soon as they finish Filch runs back as Dumbledore continues, "So...Hogwarts has been chosen to host a legendary event: The Triwizard Tournament. Now for those of you who don't know... the Triwizard Tournament brings together three schools for a series of magical contests. From each school, a single student is selected to compete. Now let me be clear. If chosen, you stand alone. And trust me when I say, these contests are not for the faint-hearted. But more of that later. For now, please join me in welcoming the lovely ladies of the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic... and their headmistress Madame Maxime." I'm not going to lie I zoned out the most of things he said as the students from Beauxbatons made their entrance.

They moved gracefully as they sighed and I was sure they had charmed many male students as they passed by. Their performance was beautiful as they made butterflies appear. The headmistress was extremely tall even taller than Hagrid himself many students applauded them but it was mostly the males. "And now our friends from the north. Please greet the proud sons of Durmstrang and their high master, Igor Karkaroff." Dumbledore announces as the students from Durmstrang make their entrance, holding canes, and spinning them as they do flips and tricks. Krum strode through the hall with authority, with the headmaster right behind him. The headmaster greeted Dumbledore as they took their seats.

"Your attention, please! I'd like to say a few words. Eternal glory. That is what awaits the student who wins the Triwizard Tournament. But to do this, that student must survive three tasks. Three extremely dangerous tasks..." he continues to explain but I didn't listen to most of it since I definitely wasn't going to get involved in it. I also felt like eternal glory was an exaggeration after all we all will forget who wins at the end of the day. Thunder suddenly roared through the hall freaking out many students. But someone with a freaky eyeball eye patch stopped it as he greeted Dumbledore. He looked around drinking some sort of drink but in any case, he looked strange. He was certainly suspicious as we made eye contact I heard a light ringing and a voice in my head that sounded just like death, 'Careful with that one, his one of his.' I couldn't ask what he meant by one of his. He didn't explain it in detail and disappeared. I'm sure I'll figure it out sooner or later as all things reveal themselves in due time.

"After due consideration, the ministry has concluded that, for their safety, no student under the age of 17–" Crouch said as the students complained, "shall be allowed to put forth their name for the Triwizard Tournament this decision is final." He continued as I could hear the twins yelling, "That's rubbish!" As many students booed. At least I didn't have to worry about entering the tournament or Harry for that matter.
