chapter 4:

Contrary to what i thought, Monday actually wasnt as bad as I thought it was going to be, only problem was; I couldn't concentrate. A headache had taken over, on top of that a toothache was emerging and although I had a load of work to catch up on, I couldnt think straight with the memory of what happened with Seth this morning. 

But it was last lesson of the day and that meant i only had to sit through another lecture spoken by an old and frankly quite boring man try and make the history sound vaguely interesting in his tone of voice. Which was impossible. The topic itself, great and interesting, the teachers who think they are qualified enough to teach us it, not so interesting.                

'Hey where were you this morning, I thought that you were coming to pick me up. I waited for like, 25minutes and you were a no show,' Lily said to me as soon as we sat down ' You could of at least called.'

Damn! Completely forgot I was supposed to be taking Lily into school today so she didn't have to go on the bus. I can't tell her about Seth though, no-one can know out about that yet.

'Umm .. i got a lift into school and my phone was out,' I tried to lie convingingly. 'I had forgotten to put it onto charge for the night.' I said, hoping that she would believe me. She glared at me and then looked up to see Mr Darnem stood behind me waiting for us to be quiet like the rest of the class.

 

'Sorry sir.' I said sympathetically and also quite pathetically. He started at us for a whil and motioned us to sit back down. I think that they may have been god's way of telling me i got out of this one with Lily. But she'll end up finding out soon enough, don't know how but she will. She's nosey like that.

'So .. What have we learned from the blackout during the second world wa ..' Mr Darnem started to say. He turned from the board and computer to look towards the door.

'Well well well, mr Reed i have been seeing quite a lot of you today. Is there any reason for that?' As soon as i heard reed i turned to see Seth stood there with his books in his hand and his bag in the other.

'I got sent out sir, miss abdul sent me here so i could do some work and not be distracted.' he said, and it looked like he was reciting every word as miss abdul had said it.

'Fine! Hummmm ...' He said. Mr Darnem looked round the room for somewhere for him to sit. There was a seat far at the back and I was sat right at the front, so I could be a safe distance for him and I couldn't get distracted. Well, not anymore distracted then i already was.
