Falling For My Brothers Best Friend

Can everyone please shut the hell up!

"Sshhhhhhh!"

"Owww! That was my foot!"

"Get down! He's coming in!"

"Shut up guys! They'll hear us!"

"They'll? Don't you mean he'll?"

"Stop! You pulled my hair!"

"CAN EVERYONE PLEASE JUST SHUT THE HELL UP!"

I heard all of these from all around the house, most of them were said more than once. The last one was yelled out to everyone by Drew.

Everyone shut up and the house was silent.

I was sitting behind the sofa with Lily and Alex next to me. Everyone was crouching and leaning against the furniture, trying to hide from Jake when he comes in. Hopefully his pick up is a taxi and that it's not one of those taxi drivers that wants to tell you their life stories.

It was so quiet that we could all hear the door latch open on the front door.

"I'm telling you man, everyone should be home..." I heard Jake say from the hallway. The whole house was in darkness and the signal to shout out 'SURPRISE!' was when he flicked on the light switch.

I saw out of the corner of my eye that he had pushed the door open. But there were two shadows, I could make out Jakes shadow, but I couldn't see the other one. All I could see was that the shadow I couldn't make out was taller and a little most muscular.

I saw a hand reach up to the light switch and I was Jake's. As the lights flickered on everyone jumped out of their hiding places.

"SURPRISE!!!!!' everyone yelled towards Jake. I stood up with Lily and Alex at the same time and was stood there stunned.

The other shadow I saw was now brightly lit up and you could see who it was. There before me, Seth. It seems Seth was the one who picked him ip from the airport.

Lily seemed to not see Seth and ran up to Jake and engulfed him into a hug. He hugged her tightly back as he picked her up and spun her round. Dropping his bag as he did it. I looked round to see Alex staring at Seth and Seth was doing the same back.

"Alex? Babe?" I asked him. He turned round to stare at me and I rested my hand on his shoulder.

"I'm fine. I just need to go and have a drink if I have to endure him for the rest of the evening," he confirmed. He was making his way through to the kitchen. I grabbed his hand before he went into the kitchen and pulled him into a hug.

"I'll come join you in a bit, I just need to go talk to my brother for a while," I whispered into his ear. I felt him nod against my shoulder. I pulled away and let him go and get his drink.

Whipping my head round to see Jake, about a dozen people surrounded him. Hugging him and saying hello after weeks of not seeing him.

Now I decided that it was my turn to say hello to my older brother. I walked up to him and as he set his eyes on me, a smile appeared across his face. He pushed everyone else aside and made his way over to me.

He engulfed me into a massive hug and mid way I think he hugged me so hard that he cut my breathing short.

"I'm guessing that by the way your cutting off my breathing is a way to say you missed me," I tried to say whilst still clinging onto him. I heard him chuckle into my shoulder.

"Of course I have! I missed you the most, but don't tell anyone else that'll he whispered the last bit into my ear. We pulled away and now had mirrored smiles on both our faces.

"Pfhhhhh! Don't be silly! I wouldn't dream of doing such a thing!" I responded dramatically. He laughed a little at my statement.

"That's why I love you sis," he said before turning to go back to see mum and dad. I'm glad I got my brother back, I got someone to torment now.

I thought about going into the kitchen to see Alex but he probably wants some time on his own. I was walking over to the punch bowl to get a drink, I knew that Lily had slipped in a little alcohol into the bowl before everyone showed up.

I looked at everyone I passed before getting to the table so I didn't bump into Seth on the way. I thankfully didn't see him so advance towards th table and poured myself a large cup of punch.

I didn't care if there was half a bottle of vodka or a whole flask of bourbon mixed into the drink, I needed it if I had to endure Seth Reed for the next couple of hours.

"Might I say that you look amazing tonight, unless it's gonna cost me a punch in the face," I heard someone say behind me. I knew who it was instantly and was gonna turn round to hit him in the face.

But seeing as I had organised this all to be about Jake, I didn't wanna make a scene. Instead I turned round and just kept gulping down my drink that was in my hands.

"Hows the whore?" I asked as politely as I possibly could.

"She not a whore, shes miss prostitute of the year. And I broke up with her," he replied back to me. I just stood there drinking and processing what he just said.

"Shame," was all I could say. I avoided falling under his gaze and looked at everyone but him.

"Shame? That's all you gotta say? No, I'm sorry or, OMG!" he responded back.

"What do you expect me to say? Oh my god we should totally get back together or something bullcrap like that!" I slightly yelled at him. I saw a couple people look at me out of the corner of their eyes.

"No, but I think that we should at least talk about what happened on Sunday," he moved closer towards me and placed his hand on my arm, trailing his fingers down to my hand and interlocking both our hands.

"No, you wanna talk. I don't wanna talk back or listen to what you wanna say anymore. I think you should leave," I replied pulling my hand out of his and walking away from him.

I needed to see Alex and now went into the kitchen to see him perched on top of the counter with a glass of scotch or bourbon in his hand. He saw me as he looked up and smiled. I smiled back to him.

"Can I have a bit of that?" I asked, making my ways over to him. Throwing my now empty plasic cup into the bin.

Like it? I hope you did! Next chapter is probably gonna be the next little (kinda) scare for Jessie and stuff that'll change the course of where the stories going. I actually have alot planned for the next three or four chapters....

Okay, I did say that I was gonna do this before, a couple of chapters ago I said that I was gonna do this.....
