Harper Riddle

After some much needed rest during winter break, we were already back at Hogwarts. My dad sent Auntie Bella and some other death eaters to attack Harry at The Burrow. I found out a day before the attack happened, but what can I do? I feel bad, but again it's not my business.

"We need to work on the cabinet Draco," I reminded the boy in my bed.

"I'm trying to take a nap," He mumbled as he buried his head in a pillow.

I got up out of bed and started taking my clothes off so I could change into something more presentable.

"Do you think you wanna get up now?" I gave Draco bedroom eyes as I stood in front of him in the lingerie I had on.

"I definitely like what I see," Draco said as he quickly sat up in bed and placed his hands on my hips.

"Well you won't see anything if you don't get up and come fix this dumb ass cabinet with me," I moved away and grabbed a skirt and jumper to put on.

"You're good I won't lie," Draco smirked as he got dressed as well.

"Come on, let's get this done," I grabbed Draco's hand as we walked to the Room of Requirement.

Draco removed the cloak that covered the cabinet as I placed the little bird we caught for our test.

We closed the cabinet as Draco focused and then opened it to discover we successfully moved it to the other cabinet.

We closed it to open it once more and the baby bird was now dead.

"Draco I-" I tried to comfort the boy.

"No don't do that. I'm never gonna get this right am I?" Draco began to sob like never before.

"It's ok. It's ok. I'm right here," I let Draco lay his head in my lap as we sat next to one another.

"I can't do this Harper. I can't do it. I-I don't know what to do," Draco continued sobbing as we both contemplated our future.

We spent what felt like hours in the Room of Requirement. I had never heard him cry before, but this wasn't hurt, it was fear. We are both afraid of our future, if we even have one.

We eventually found our way back to my room and went to bed without a word.

The next morning, I woke up to an empty bed, but when I looked around I saw Draco sitting at my windowsill.

"Hi there," I spoke as I rubbed my eyes.

"Hi," Draco softly smiled before turning his attention to whatever he was looking at outside.

"Whatcha doing over here?" I walked up to Draco from behind and gave him a nice hug.

"I'm just thinking," Draco nustled his head into my arms, enjoying the comfort I gave him.

"About last night?" I slowly pointed out.

"I just-I'm really scared Harp, I don't know how we're gonna get this done. It's not looking good and I don't know what to do," Draco looked down ashamed.

"I know you're scared and I want you to know that I am too. But I'm right by your side and we are somehow gonna get through this. Let's just take it day by day," I prompted to Draco.
