kaeleigh-i woke up at eleven the next morning, and once i had changed and gotten ready, sent calum a text and went to eat breakfast. i poured myself some cereal, getting halfway through the bowl before my phone started beeping like crazy.
from cal: KAE GET OVER HERE ASAP
from cal: KAE I'M SERIOUS
from cal: DUCK KAE HIRRY YP
from cal: KAELEIGH SHTI
i stood quickly, my chair scraping against the ground, and rushed to put my bowl in the sink. i grabbed my keys, running out the door and trying to lock it fast, before darting across the street to calum's house. the door was unlocked, so i threw it open, allowing it to slam behind me.
someone shrieked from upstairs, so i dashed up the steps, and entered calum's room. he was standing on his bed, just wearing his boxers, his eyes wide in fear.
"calum, what the-"
"there's a spider!" he screamed, pointing to the floor. "kill it! killitkillitkillitkillit!"
i held back a laugh, grabbing one of his shoes from the floor. i walked over, spotting a very small spider on his carpet. i rolled my eyes, slamming the shoe down. "got it."
calum let out a breath, sitting down on his bed with his knees curled into his chest. "thank you." he whispered.
i frowned, sitting next to him and wrapping my arms around his broad frame. he leaned his head on my chest, and i rested my chin on his head. "you hate spiders." i stated.
"i know, duh."
i chuckled, rubbing his back soothingly. "if you had told me there was a spider, i would have been over here faster."
"yeah right." he scoffed. "you probably took your time and locked your door and shít."
"i had to!" i defended. "i knew you weren't in too much trouble, because you texted instead of called."
"dammit." calum cursed. "next time i'll call."
"if you call, there better be a fúcking murderer in the house." i paused. "wait. don't call me if there's a murderer in the house, call the police."
"noted." he nodded. "you couldn't fend of a murderer anyway."
i gasped, "really? i could too!"
"nah," calum teased, "you aren't strong enough."
i shot my arm out, punching him on the arm. he shrieked, flinching away from me and holding his arm close to him.
i laughed, "not strong enough?"
"well of course you could punch me!" calum exclaimed, "but you couldn't win in a fight."
i raised an eyebrow, "really?"
calum nodded, and i scoffed. "okay. let's go."
he watched confusedly as i stood, "what?"
"try to beat me."
"no way."
i shrugged, jumping back on the bed, landing on top of calum and pinning him down. i grinned triumphantly, but my eyes widened when calum flipped us over, holding my arms down. i struggled to get free, but calum held me still, a grin on his face.
"i win."
"shut up," i whined. "i hate you."
"aw," he cooed, "love you too, kae."
